I'm sure he drank wine and other brews in moderation, as that is the Old Testament teaching. We know for sure he drunk wine, as well as seeing it as OK drink for traditional festivals like the Passover and social occasions like weddings.
Many of the fine beers, wines and liqueurs of Europe have been produced by Abbeys, eg Bénédictine.
If you wanted to offer Him a fine brew .. Guinness or Newcastle Brown Ale, Hoogstraten would be cool. Catholics might offer Chateau neuf du Pape - a posh papal wine !

He probably wouldn't drink that cheapy american crap beer like budweiser. Although if you gave him a case of it he could convert it in to something good like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. So get the cheapest you can find and just let him convert it into what he likes.
