Why can't we, as the richest nation cannot have a system where with their driver's license they can be tracked, thrown in jail when they swipe their card for gas, or buying groceries for his new family? I JUST DON'T SEE WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT HERE , PEOPLE!! i t should be a no brainer, but i guess there are too many rich people out there who can line the right pockets to not get those necessary laws passed....IT SHOULD BE ABOUT THE CHILDREN....Not whether or not i hate my, ex..... duh, i divorced him...i sought help through Domestic Abuse, but he wasn't arrested when he stalked us, found out where we lived ....won't be arrested for his "other" problem, i cant speak about , but is illegal in all countries, & morally wrong on so many levels, but again, he'll get away with that as well.....anyway back to child support, we can run fingerprints through the police systems, why can't we add deadbeat parents to the list of scum_ _ _ _.....i just want justice for my son!!!

they do track 'em, even if they get 'lost' for a while... sooner or later, it'll catch up to him. JUSTICE will come to him, in many forms, believe me.

as for the Child Support... sooner or later, he will pay. and as for the rest, he'll pay in the afterlife for the dirtbag he is; get colon cancer, grow old alone, etc etc

i am a firm believer in what goes around, comes around and he is OVER DUE.

in any case, if you are having no luck with your caseworker (or dept) then pull rank and put some heat on the case...

it works.
------
well the honor system doesnt work, thats been proven. its also why the state and federal government passed stronger laws for child support; they are TIRED of people not paying for their children.

the arrears still keep adding up.

1) call your caseworker and ask:
--request an enforcement hearing.
--where you apply for interest on the arrears?
--was the case submitted for tax refund intercept?
--was the arrears reported to the credit reporting agencies yet?
--ask why they have not taken his drivers license away yet?
--ask why they have not put liens on his bank accounts yet?
--ask why there has not been a warrant issued yet?

2) sit down and write a letter. in it, give your contact info, case number, his info, arrears amount, the problem and ask them what they are doing about it.

keep the letter short, its more effective that way.

then take that ONE letter and FAX it to the following:
a) BOTH your states Attorney Generals (link is below)
b) BOTH your states Governors (link is below)
c) BOTH your states Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office (link is below)

phone calls are useless; they are ignored, denied and forgotten. mail ends up on someones "to do" pile, but FAXES are effective. its proof you sent it and proof they recieved it, therefor, they HAVE to address it. if you cant find a fax number (most are listed online) then just call them and ask for it.

if you hear nothing in a week, fax them again. fax them weekly if need be. its the squeaky wheel that gets the oil, if ya know what i mean. WHO CARES if you miff ‘em off, just keep at them until the problem is addressed.

3) Report his azz to the IRS (in writing), for he’s supporting himself, somehow. Tell them you strongly suspect him working under the table to avoid a child support order.

4) Report his azz to the Social Security Office if he’s been using others SS#.

5) post his DEADBEAT FACE on a DEADBEAT SITE online.

some links for you; just click on your state and find the subject you need

Well, if he's behind on child support, he CAN have any professional licenses revoked, and that can include a driver's license. Makes no sense to me because if they can't work, they can't pay anyway, but you CAN get their license revoked (medical, legal, trucker, construction, etc.)

And, he can be tracked via his social security number and tax returns. If you file a claim for your child support, any tax returns he receives will be forwarded to you. Of course, most guys eventually pick up on this and will only work for cash under the table.

i am all for u. yup. i am with a man who won't even deal with the kid he created 7 yrs ago, because the woman plays games and he wants a kid with me. he's a fool and i'm about to cut him loose. your right, and by the way, they do take your liscence and they can throw him in jail and deny him a passport all on the area of being a deadbeat dad. support kids.com i think can help if you got 5000 back support not being made..but other than that, you know you should have the birth certificate changed to "Sperm DONOR" you are a prime example to other women to use sense and keep their legs closed and i do mean this in a good way. most men seem to care about only sticking it in the next warm piece of Pu**y and NEVER THINK OF CONSEQUENCES. I AM DOWN WITH YOU. YOU GO GIRL!

Because they are cheap SOBs. The one's that don't take responsibility for their children are only in a relationship for one thing....themselves and what they can get out of it. You can track him down, get a court order and if he doesn't comply have him arrested for contempt of court; however, that could mean jail/prison time and of course, no money for the children. It's a catch-22 type thing and I wish you all the best.

Well I don't know what state you live in but in CA they do suspend drivers licenses, and garnish wages, and hold tax returns and all that other stuff...its connected to DMV records so can't register new vehicles etc.... Just remember noisy wheel gets the oil..so keep at it and I'm sure you will find the right loop to get what your son deserves!

Mine is paying only after it took 18 months to catch up with him... it was only because I did all the footwork. I also have a great case worker. But I was dealing with two states and that makes it a little more difficult.

It's illegal here too. I don't think your situation is any worse than anybody elses - that's just the way the system works. And honestly, I think if the issues with the father are that serious you might wanna just keep him out of your life period.

2007-07-23 14:43:32 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

They don't get away with it if you stay on it. But it takes work from your side. You have to track him, trace him, pay money to do it, and keep on it so you always know where he's working so the money can be garnished from his wages.

The other side to this whole thing is...why do you women marry men who are irresponsible and don't make good fathers. You should be checking these things out before you hop into bed with them without using birth control.

2007-07-23 14:45:51 · answer #8 · answered by janicajayne 7 · 4 0

You can, have him thrown in jail for not paying. It's the women who don't continue to go after them for it. I agree it should not be a problem, but these women need to do what it takes to enforce it and they think it's to much trouble to do it! The laws are there, you have to pursue it!! Then do something about making it easier to enforce the judgment!!

In Colorado your drivers license is suspended,if you have a professional license, that is suspended too(Drs,teachers, lawyers, etc license) your wages are garnished and if you are getting a tax refund, that is intercepted too.I personally have known guys who lost their jobs and residences over just falling behind a couple of months.Pretty draconian if you ask me.

Honestly---if he has this scroll list of problems, ie--stalking, why do you want him to even be apart of your lives? Don't get me wrong---I beleive he is responsible for his share of having a child---but sometimes you have to cut your losses. And frankly--our gov't. doesn't give a hoot about low-income/middle-income family disputes. Honey---get a second income, pray, rely on close family and friends and thank God that you don't need to have a destructive man in your life to raise happy/healthy children. Life's too short for the stress. He will get his in full circle.
