Hiding under a bed? "Fear of commitment" is a myth.

The myth has come about because no two people have ever been at exactly the same point in a relationship at the same time. When one is ready for some big next step they can't wait to tell the other. Of course the other person isn't there yet and the one who is has just put huge pressure on them.

One of two things happens here. They lie and say they are. Or they tell the truth and the other person immediately falls apart and cries "fear of commitment".

Of course the relationship is doomed at that point because the person crying can't resist asking every 5 minutes "are we there yet" and of course each time they ask they push the other person farther from that commitment because they're acting like a desperate clingy psycho.
