The devil plan is to destroy people's lives. From what i have read in the Bible i havent read much about the Devil keeping u from what u want or the devil controlling some1's life. Do u believe that Devil could intervene in some1's life. Like causing destruction and blocking your blessings? In Nigeria Christians know all about it but this topic isnt discussed very often In American Christianity

GaMi, its true the devil may reign in people's life and cause a lot of mess. the bible itself talks about it: Satan and his host demons are searching for anyone to devour. a premonition follows: we should be on guard with prayer and supplication. in Africa though, the influence of the devil in people's life may be over-exagerated. there are certain things that can be scientifically proven- talk of AIDS for instance. people still believe that AIDS is not an ordinary ailment but a machination of the witches and wizards. but you and i know this isn't the case. the bible provides practical guidelines that when followed will prevent one from being ensnared by the devil. today people view pre-marital sex as just normal, homosexualism and bestiality are on the ascendancy. being a Good Christian protects you from the problems that come with them.
more so the devil can come into your life if you give him the avenue. constantly reading the bible and adopting a prayerful attitude keep you miles away from Satan and his demons. the Bible says we should arm ourselves with the protective shield of the word of God.

the devil knows exactly what ticks man and capitalizes on that to get him most often. the American culture in general doesn't get obsessed with things pertaining to the spiritual media that much. so therefore, he may use other crafty avenue such as sexual immorality, politics, drugs, over indulgence, non-respect for life etc. to still ensnare men.
people wan't to live their own life the way they like it. thus they accept no moral guidelines from any source be it the Bible.
But as much as we accept that we aren't the author of our life, we must be wiling to accept guidelines to life as found in the pages of the bible. failure to do so have led many to devise their own moraility and principles. the effect of that is what we are we are experiencing in the world today. Satan is nonetheless the force behind all these.

The Bible tells you the righteous way to live. Anything outside of the Bible, that is not of God, or righteous is wrong for christians.
The devil intervenes in lifes everyday.
People smoke cigarettes .
People drink alcohol and do drugs.
People are having sex before marriage.
People are having sex with the same gender.
People kill and steal .
People cuss and fight .
People are into witchcraft, oujia boards, and other religions that are not of God.
People are guilty of idolatry.
There are movies, books, and music available that doesn't pertain to the righteous way of life.
God wants us to live righteous. That means that we don't get what we want all the time.
If the devil keeps you from reading your Bible, believing in God, and going to church he is destroying you.
We don't talk about it here in America because people are to happy indulging in getting what they want, and do what they want no matter what the circumstances are . That is why the Bible warns us about the tribulation period. Jesus will step down to put a stop to satan. He will punish the people for listening to satan. If you are not in God's will then you are cutting yourself off from blessings. Satan is here to steal , kill and destroy. He is here to hurt you and take you down with him, he is just good at making it look good for you to participate.

GaMi, I will give you my "take" on this subject. The bible says the devil prowls the earth as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. The bible also says that if you submit yourself to God and resist the devil, he must flee.
As a Christian, I know who satan is and I know who the demons are. I have felt their influence in my life. If and when I do, I know immediately what to do. I use the name of Jesus Christ, because that name is the ultimate power.
Sure, there might be alot more to satan and his demons than I know. I do not take alot of time thinking about them. My thoughts, my heart and mind are towards the things of God. Because of this, He guards my path and makes my steps sure. This doesn't mean I'm ignorant about the wiles of the enemy. This means I am informed about who is soverign, and it is the Most High God, not satan.

Usually blaming a demon for something is to assign it fault based on a negative occurrence, (a flood, famine, fire, etc...) People that live in Nigeria are obviously less technologically advanced, and when crops do not grow well due to soil pH, or some other logical reason, it is easy to blame something that is "magical".

Yeah, the Boogey Man's gonna get ya tactic doesn't seem to work as well now that most people can read and write and are starting to think at least somewhat for themselves. The cult needed a new angle.

Because in America a lot of Christians want to be given pacifiers and be pampered, they dont want to think abou Bad things happening. sorry if that sounds harsh, but its the truth.
