I want to do my own wedding favors. The theme is a beach wedding, with lots of sandcastles and shells.
I don't want to do anything involving sand in a bottle because I did message in a bottle wedding favors.
I was thinking of knitting my own home made wedding coasters, but I think that would take forever.
It is a small wedding, only 30-45 guests.
What do you all suggest??

Saltwater taffy and a charitable donation.
Add a few homeade cookies shaped like a sand castle or shells and inclue the recipie on how to make the cookie. Come up with a signature blend...for instance peanut butter cookies with white chocolate chips and pecan (HTB loves those) Have the typical ones like the oatmeal rasin, choc. chip, sugar. Provide little bags and those mini milks like you get in the school caffeteria as a snack for the guests to take home.
Make sure somewhere you have suntan lotion available so people don't burn...perhaps you can buy the travel sized ones and put them with the taffy?
Edibles on the beach are tricky because you don't want the them to melt.

Bookmarks: Drill a small hole in a 1" shell - any kind of shell. Thread a 12" piece of 1/2" silk ribbon and tie off - tie a knot in the other end.
Give each guest a sand dollar or starfish with your names on it - nestled in a pretty white box.

I love the cookie idea with the links to the cutters.
I'm having a beach wedding in 6 weeks and my favors are the cutest. I got these little white buckets from Michael's craft store (they look like sand pails) and stamped little shells on the side in my colors attached a tag that said thank you and fill them with the custom printed M & M's. One color with our names and another color with " Life's a Beach".

Have coastline video games like volley ball, soccer, waiting if the climate is sweet. are you able to've a hearth-pit there? Clam bake every physique? Smores? Luau topic? Lei necklaces, coconut bras, grass skirts. tiny umbrellas in beverages. occasion favours are much lower priced in greenback shops. you additionally can pass with a topic and shop at a greenback shop for products as gag presents. I did this once I make "Christmas Crackers" for the kin. there became no "pop" however the prize became extra beneficial. My brother have been given a whoopee cushion, my sis have been given a key chain with tiny available screws, different sis have been given loaded cube, pal have been given a set of marked taking part in cards, and so on. good success, Congratulations and have relaxing!

I did something similar to this for my wedding. http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.3a0656639de62ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=74e2e7fad4ca3110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextchannel=c971fa5661cee010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&rsc=collage_weddings_wedding-favor-candles_p1&lastnavigatedchannel=c971fa5661cee010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD. Its not a waste and people will actually use a candle. Cutesy favors are just that....cute to you, something you will keep as a momento but everyone else will toss. You could easily make it "beachy" and have a piece of twine around the paper and tie a shell in the knot.
another idea...

How about a small mesh bag with small shells and a starfish in it? Then on the ribbon you could tie a piece of paper saying "groom and brides names, wedding date"

Craft stores usually have seashells, I would suggest seashells with candy wrapped in tulle tied with some twine or small rope that will give it a nautical feel.
Good luck!
