last week I was having a filling done and they ended up having to pull the tooth - and I didn't seem anxious or anything - afterwards I got very shaky after the tooth was pulled, and then they gave me some glucose and I started to improve, and then I had grape juice and was doing good enough to go home. Is it just because I hadn't eaten in a while or was it something else? thanks

It sounds like a side effect from the epinephrine that is in Novocaine. It could be from not eating also. To be on the safe side, I would let people know any time that you have Novocaine that this happened.

it could have been not eating or it could have been losing a little bit of blood after not having eaten in a while. either way if it cleared up u should be okay. if it recurs go to doctor and tell him the circumstance.

it is normal to be kind of shakey or "edgy" during and after a procedure that involves the numbing medication, like lidocaine for instance, its just a sideffect of the drug
