God is very real and He is very good. Being a Christian man is my job to get people thinking and talking about the Lord. I am glad there are so many of my fellow believers speaking out and letting the truth me known to those of you who don't believe.

God IS real and bad things happen to everyone who lives in this fallen world. We who are walking in right relationship with Jesus Christ have promises and protections from our Father in heaven, but they don't come automatically anymore than salvation come automatically. Salvation is bought and paid for by the finished work of the cross, but each individual must avail themselves to it by believing it and asking for God for it and accepting Jesus as Lord over their life. The benefits of salvation are numerous, but they each have to be received by the believer by faith. You hear from the written word of God what is your family inheritance, but you have to appropriate it individually. We are not robots. Even if you inherited a large sum of money and it was in your bank account, you would have to go into the bank and show them your identity and your account # and fill out a piece of paper that says what you want to do; deposit, withdraw, look at your balance, etc. They don't give you all your money just because you walked into the bank. See?
WE have a responsibility to do our part to help protect ourselves from danger. The devil is just waiting for you to open a door for him to come and hurt and harm you. His entire mission on earth is to "steal, kill and destroy".., and we can't make the devil not be who he is, we can walk by faith with Jesus and receive the protection He offers.

There are whole books devoted to this topic and 1 of 3 things has to be. Either:

1. God does not exist.
2. God exists, but is weak and not able to prevent these.
3. God allows it to happen.

I personally believe the third option. Here are a few possibilities:

1. God allows sin. God allows sinful people to hurt others. It's called free will. After they die, they will be judged by God and things will be set straight.

2. Ever heard of the book in the Bible of Job? Interesting story of a really good guy who has a really bad day and his friends can't help but give advice.

3. As you read the Bible, you can see a pattern. Joshua was sold into slavery, Moses had to hide out for several years, David had attempts on his life by Saul. Lots of godly people first went through a period of trials. God used those times in their lives to make them stronger and increase their faith.

Long answer, made short. Because there is an enemy at work also. God, like a good parent, is always trying to protect and defend His children, us. But the devil, walking about like a lion seeking whom he may devour, is working just as hard to trick, trap, and deceive the children of God. God gave us a great gift of free will, so we have the ability to choose what we will do in any situation. He also gave us His Word as a guidebook. But we have to choose to obey, and when we are tricked or make a mistake, the enemy is there. The secret to having good things happen is to make good decisions and have a good relationship with God. As we do our part, God is able to do the rest, and to meet our need exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think.

Asked & Answered at Least 1000 times here "Cavey"!!! God is Not the Ruler of This World!!! Man in the Garden was given that Privilege & when they "Sinned", Control was Gained by Satan!!! U know Satan is getting Really Whizzed Off for not getting Credit for all his hard work here!!! Scripture says in Rom. 3:9-11 "9 What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, 10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. So it is Rather Arrogant then to claim to be Righteous isn't it??? John

well this is a common quest many people often ask about God so let me see if maybe i can help. NO God is not bad and NO he doesnt put us through bad situation on purpose so that he can just laugh NO THAT IS FAR FROM TRUTH...
-Yes one may say its life , which is true, but it all boils down to the war between Satan and God. Although we do not see it , there is a war goin on in the spirtual relm and we HUMANS are stuck in the middle b/c the devil is doomed to hell and wants to take as many as he can with him , and God is fighting for us b/c he wants us to go to heaven with him and not hell.
-God is a perfect gentlemen and would NEVER intrude on one's desires and will. He made us with our own free will so that those who serve him will do it because they love him and were not "forced" to,(that wouldnt be true love if so).
-So if you read in the book of JOB it tells a story of a "GOOD MAN" a "righteous man" who had favor in the sight of the lord, and yet many "MANY" bad things happened to him. He had his wife, children , servent, cattle, house and "EVERYTHING" destroyed. He was to the point where he was about to give up and quit serving God. This was "ALL" done by the devil NOT by God and Job "almost" fell away from God b/c he took his eyes off of God and for a minute focused on the bad in life. Yes God allowed it to happen to Job but in the end Job said THE LORD GIVETH THE LORD TAKETH AWAY BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD...(JOB 1:21).
Inspite of all this wrong Job decided to still serve God...and by being faithful God blessed him 10 fold...
its a wonderful "true" story of how God allows stuff to happen and the devil gets defeated and we are blessed for our obedience to still serve him through the willingness of our heart.... i urge you to read it when you can (book of job)
so remember God loves you and cares so much that he chose you to be born in this day and hour ...no one else could be you but YOU.....keep believing b/c God "is'' real and he does care...its just the devil thats tryen to blind us and get our focous off of God so we would sin.. God bless

I've had a lot of "bad" things happen to me but I don't blame God.

The easiest way to look at it is this: What makes you qualified to judge what is good and what is bad in the world? So many seemingly "bad" things happen that end up being blessings in disguise.

That's still an excellent question though. Have a great day!

Bad things happen to wonderful people as a way for God to bring the lost to Himself. For example, I was brought to the Lord through a deep and long lasting depression that ended with a suicide attempt which was thwarted by the Hand of God. I am forever thankful for that!

God is supernatural and non secular (in case you suspect in God). So there is not any thank you to "prepare" that God exists, because of fact we commonly "prepare" issues by making use of way of exact tests and info. although, some efficient questions to contemplate are: - Is our existence in the worldwide all there is? - Is there a purpose on your existence? concerning your question approximately undesirable issues occurring to human beings you worship God, the Bible has extremely some verses on that: Matt 5:40 5 .... For he supplies his image voltaic to the two the evil and the sturdy, and he sends rain on the purely and the unjust alike. Ecclesiastes 7:15 in this meaningless existence of mine I even have seen the two one in all those: a righteous guy perishing in his righteousness, and a depraved guy residing long in his wickedness. Ecclesiastes 8:14 there is something else meaningless that occurs in the worldwide: righteous adult adult males who get what the depraved deserve, and depraved adult adult males who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is incomprehensible. Ecclesiastes 9:2 All share a difficulty-loose destiny—the righteous and the depraved, the sturdy and the undesirable, the sparkling and the unclean, people who grant sacrifices and people who do no longer. because it extremely is with the sturdy guy, so with the sinner; because it extremely is with people who take oaths, so with people who're afraid to take them. From those verses i think of that "undesirable" issues occurring right here in the worldwide to "sturdy" human beings makes extra experience if there's a continuation to the tale previous this existence.

because we were all given free will which means i am free to slap you silly with a rotten trout even if you saved 13 children from a burning house and opened 73 orphanages and cared for the sick and dying

That's a good question. I want to read the smarmy, nothingy answers that the Fundies give you....like "God works in mysterious (meaning very cruel) ways."..... and "We can't understand how "he" works". All of that is just crap, and means nothing.
