Evolutionist are always looking for a way to convince themselves of foolish things in spite of evidence to the contrary.
They invent all sorts of things as they go along.....everytime something doesn't work out right they invent another theory to keep it current with the latest discovers which keep invalidating their last assumption....it is really laughable
And sadly, convincing themselves is not enough for them. They have to further perpetuate their deceptions by spreading around to our nations youth. Beware of the radical evolutionists....they will tell you anything to keep you from believing in a Creator.
Atheists theme song:
I used to be an ameba, living life completely free.
Then I became a fish, swimming in the sea.
Then I was monkey, hanging from a tree,
And now, I'm a doctor with a Ph. D.!

Evolution is a science just like astronomy. Being an atheist means I have no religion. Although I am fascinated by both astronomy and evolution I am neither an astronomer nor an evolutionist. I think both astronomy and evolution provide a great deal of evidence as to the existence of the universe as well as the Ascension of the species but both are little more than hobbies for me. Wish I could get more into both but I have to earn a living. Of course, being an atheist, most religious teachings, such as creationism, are delusional fantasies in my view.

Atheism is a stand on the existence of God
Evolution is a scientific "theory" about how life reached its current state on earth.
The first deals with "truths" while the second deals with "facts".
There are theist who believe that evolution is the process through which God "created" life. So an evolutionist can be a theist.
However it would be very difficult for an atheist to be a "creationist". He would most likely be an evolutionist, believing the evolution is a natural process not started or guided by "god".

An athiest is a person that claims the disproof of god. There is no such thing as an evolutionist. Many people Athiest, Agnostics, Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, Jews, and others that feel the process of Evolution best explains the way life developed on the Earth.
Personally I describe myself as a skeptic, cynic, man about town and all around swell guy.

both together are a good indication that the asker is a creationist.
The word evolutionist is coined by creationists and to the best of my knowledge not used by anybody else. Definitely not by supporters of evolutionary theory.
Athiest seems to be a common spelling mistake mainly christians make. Maybe it's something like not writing out the name of g-d?
If it's a serious question why don't you look at wikipedia or the dictionary of your choice?

Technically, there is not such thing as an evolutionist. There are people who accept the theory of evolution. The term 'evolutionist' was created in response to the use of the word 'creationist'. People who subscribe to a theory are not tagged with names. There are no gravitationists or tectonicists so why should there be evolutionists?
I believe that almost all atheists agree with the theory of evolution. All works with all of the scientific evidence. There are also people of various religions who also agree with the theory of evolution. There are christians, muslims, and hindus who agree with it. A person who is an atheist probably agrees with the theory of evolution, however a person who agrees with the theory of evolution is not necesarily an atheist. Therefore, trying to compare and contrast an atheist and an 'evolutionist' (or perhaps a person who subscribes to the theory of evolution) is not valid.

Same as the difference between Muslims and mechanics. There is absolutely no relationship between the two.
Atheists don't believe in God. Some are knowledgeable about scientific matters, and some are not.
I don't know what an "evolutionist" is, but most educated people are more or less knowledgeable about the process of biological evolution. Many such people believe in God, and many don't. As I said, the two are completely unrelated.

To be an atheist you have to believe in a naturalistic origin for the universe and life, so an atheist has to accept evolution or a similar naturalistic belief.
The atheists credo.
We believe in one Matter,
The almighty, the omnipotent
Maker of the whole universe
Of all that is seen and unseen
We believe in one Cosmic Egg
The only Son of Matter
Eternally begotten of Matter
Matter from Matter, Energy from Energy,
True Matter from True Matter
Begotten not made,
Of one being with Matter
Through the Egg all things were made
For us men and for our evolution
It formed itself in the heavens
By the power of the Energy it became incarnate into virgin space, and was made Egg
For our sake, it exploded in a singularity,
expanded, and expanded and became everything
In accordance with the ‘Big Bang’ story
It spread across the heavens and evolved into galaxies
It will continue in glory
Until the ultimate heat death
We believe in the Energy, the giver of life, which proceeds from the Matter and the Egg
With the Matter and the Egg it is worshipped and glorified
It has been revealed by the atheists
We believe in one, secular humanist and Darwinian faith
We acknowledge one, atheistic viewpoint for the education of all.
We look for the oblivion of the dead
And the destruction of the world to come.
Amen

An atheist is a person who does not believe in God. An evolutionist believes in evolution. Some evolutionists believe in God, and claim that God created man through means of evolution.

Atheists do not believe in god. That is about all we have in common.
Unlike religious followers we are independent thinkers and have a wide variety of views on everything, including the Theory of Evolution.
There are thousands of scientific theories, evolution is just one of them. Some Atheists might agree with it 100% others don't. The point is the two things are not connected in any way.

Atheism precludes the possibility of a god.
Evolution does not. Even the Bible supports evolution to an extent. That is that the Bible describes the creation of plants, insects, fish, birds and animals, 'each according to its kind'. What that suggests is that there was a prototype bird, cat, dog, cow, etc and that over time the various 'breeds' developed or evolved. One need look no further than dogs to understand this. What the Bible does not concur with is that one 'kind' evolved into another.
The problem in the discussion between science and religion in the case of evolution is the definition of the word 'species'. The scientific definition is far more precise than the general view employed in the Bible.
