I think at 117lbs you are probably of an ideal weight anyway so don't need to loose weight.however, if you are under 4ft 9 and want to loose weight you need to do it in a sensible manner this is 1200 calories at least a day with a selection of foods including fibre, protein, carbohydrates, vegetables fruits and fat.and importantly exercise sensibly.
EDIT :
Cutting down to one meal is not sensible way to address dieting regardless of your size and height at the original statement of 117 it is a natural worry that you wish to diet at all as you would be within the normal range.. Plus when you have lost the weight and want to eat normally your weight will rise rapidly. If you do not take in enough calories you will become seriously ill. You can talk with your doctor on ways to loose weight alternatively there are groups that can guide you. Eating so little really wont help or make you feel healthy exercise and good eating patterns are the most important thing.
EDIT:
From your previous questions I think the first weight was your true weight and I would seriously suggest a visit to the doctor as I believe in the questions you have asked you could develop an eating disorder if they are truthful. Im worried you wish to be 98lbs by the pictures you were requesting. This is unhealthy and will not make you happy. If I'm right please contact this helpline

Yes you do need help, but whatever you do do NOT just eat 500 calories a day. This is not the way to lose weight. You need to eat a lot more than a jacket potato and beans a day.
Also 117 is not big, how tall are you

If you only eat 500 cals a day, not only will you lose weight, you'll probably die.
First side effect will be dizziness, lack of strength. Your body will then begin to eat it's own muscle tissue.
Ideally weight loss should be slow and gradual over a long period of time.
Try this trick. Only think about food while you are actually eating it.
Try this trick. Having eaten your Sunday lunch at about 2pm, eat nothing until 2pm on the Monday. Yeah - that's 24 hours without food. Do this every single week for the rest of your life. Remember, 8 of those 24 hours will be spent in bed asleep. It works.
Try this trick. Look at the food on your plate, shove a quarter of it off into the bin. DO IT!
Do not starve yourself. 500 cals a day is gonna just do you in. You need that many cals just to keep your heart and lungs in full function.
With any diet, we must avoid the body eating it's own muscle tissue. This happens with rapid weight loss. Try to lose body fat/blubber. This only comes off slowly.
It's not a new diet you need, for a food intake reduction.
It means simply eating the same food[s] but less of it. Try the plate scrape method. Do all your own cooking for a while and get used to putting less on the plate. No side orders. No extra portions. No starters. No puddings. One plate per day, evening, main course only - week one. On week two add three breakfasts of any cerial etc plus a hard boiled egg.
Basic rules are : -
FISH - 3 times a week
EGGS - 3 times a week
CHEESE - 3 times a week
MEAT - 3 times a week
That takes care of the protien. The rest is just vegetables and fruit.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Hi, Please be careful, 500 calories is not enough, you must eat between 1000 and 1200 calories per day and you will still lose as much weight as if you only eat 500 cals per day. You can fill up on vegetables if you are feeling hungry, the majority of vegetables have no calories, but make sure you eat healthy otherwise you will make yourself ill.

Yes, you will lose weight.
However, you will also become malnourished, as potatoes and beans do not account for a complete, balanced diet. Also, your body requires more than 500 calories per day for basic function. Even more calories if you intend to be active (as in not sit at a computer all day, every day).

5'1 and 177 lbs is a bit much (didn't;t see the comments originally)
500 is too low, don't put food on the plate and throw some away like someone suggested as it is completely wasteful.
Eat smaller portions but eat more often because that will keep your metabolism higher.
Exercise is best done before breakfast as you need to burn what you already have not just using up what you just ate

That is starving yourself, and you will lose weight, but not the healthy way, and not for a long time. WHY? Your body will begin to recognize that it's not receiving the nutrients it needs, and will hold on to those 500 calories, and your metabolism will slow down, and it won't burn fat, instead it will begin to store it.

if you eat 500 cals a day you will get ill. also your body will slow down its metabolic rate and will start to store any carbs or fats that you do take in, so when you start to eat properly you will gain weight. There is no way of getting long-term weight loss other than sensible healthy eating and daily exercise. there are NO short cuts. crash diets cause very short-term weight loss which comes straight back on but yet also risk your health. By the way, 117lbs is tiny. accept who you are if you feel healthy

Along with a lot of muscle tone too. best to work out, by keeping a track of what you eat, how many calories you eat a day, then deduct 500 calories from that. you can lose one pound a week doing that, more to start with.
If you add some cardio you'll lose even more.
