Do not feed it milk or tuna. These are actually bad for its digestive process and can give it diarrhea!
Feed kitten food (like Kitten Chow). If the kitten is under 6 weeks, try to get the Kitten Chow in the pink carton that you can moisten. If it is a bit older, you can get the yellow box of Kitten Chow. You can switch to adult cat food once the cat is over 1 year.
Always have a bowl of fresh water out for the cat. I prefer not to give my cats or kittens any soft food or table scraps. I know it can be fun to feed them stuff, but the dry cat chow is really the best thing for them. As a "parent", sometimes you have to do what's best for your "child" even when it's not the most fun thing.
Your kitten will need to be spayed or neutered by the time he/she is 9 months of age. You should take him/her to the vetrinarian for a checkup and shots before that. The vet will be able to give you more advice. I am listing some sites below that have more information.
Good luck! :)

it depends on how old it is. If it is old enough to be weaned (6 weeks) then cat food should be fine. Kitten food would be better. If it is less than 6 weeks old, then it may need some kitten milk replacement (please no cow's milk, they like it but it's not very good for them).
If it seems to know what to do with the cat/kitten food, and seems to have no difficulty with it, then it's probably weaned. Just keep feeding it kitten chow and it'll be fine. It's the best thing for it. Dried, if it can manage it w/o problems. Wet if if it still needs it softer.

Please don't feed it milk. The only milk kittens are supposed to drink is their mothers milk. The best thing for you to do is give it some kitten chow Purina brand is really good. Cat food will be too hard for a kitten. Do not feed it anything but cat food, and please take the kitten to the vet right away, as you may be able to prevent it from getting sick, strays can catch a lot of things, and until you take it to the vet, keep it away from your other cats if you have them. Thank you for rescuing a stray!

I found some kittens and did not know what to do. You hear a lot of different (and conflicting) ideas. My kittens get evaporated milk mixed with water and do not get diarrea (sp?), they love scrambled eggs (but I give them organic eggs, no hormones, etc. and no salt). I mixed the eggs with kittens dry food (a natural brand that does not have animal byproducts.
I read recently that a vet does not recommend that the cooking utensils used for cats be teflon coated.
My kittens are lively and very active but I am no expert in this subject.
And do you see what I mean? You have gotten conflicting answers. As for baby food, I read PLEASE do not give baby food to kittens because it may contain onion powder. Onion and garlic (and chocolate) are no good for cats.

Myth: Cats should drink milk everyday.
Fact: Most cats like milk, but do not need it if properly nourished. Also, many will get diarrhea if they drink too much milk. If it is given at all, the amount should be small and infrequent.
Why wouldnt you feed it cat food???
Please dont feed your cat human food like ham. See above.

Depends on the age. If it's very young and not yet weened, then feed it formula (not milk) that can be purchased at your vet or Walmart.
If it's older, then just kitten chow and plenty of fresh water.

Milk no, it gives them diarrhea, unless it can't eat proper food (if it still breastfeeding). And don't water the milk down, it is not teh fat content that is the problem, but the lactose. If it can eat boiled chicken cut in small pieces, or any other meat cut in small pieces, it'll be fine.

Fresh water and canned food is what you should feed. High quality food like Wellness, Merrick, Innova Evo, Felidae, etc found in a pet food store is most nutritious.

They do like milk and mine love canned tuna, just make sure it is in water (no salt) and not in oil.
However, cat food is designed specifically for them, they need extra protein and other vitamins for their health and eye sight. If it is a cat you are going to keep, get it spayed or neutered and buy some good dry food for it, wet food if desired.
