In Indian languages Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and Urdu - Kha would mean "eat" in its simplest form. Khana means to eat, and there are plenty of derivatives from that end.

I've been to Thailand and I am sure it must have some other meaning in Thai language as there are plenty of Thai words with similar associations: Khap Khoon Khrap etc.

I don't know what does it mean in the Thai language but in Hindi and Urdu 'kha' means to eat.

Yes it is a Thai word. It generally means "yes" when responding to a question that require a yes/no answer. It is a word used by females. The males use the word "krab" instead of "kah". Another usage is that female speakers add the word "kah" at the end of each sentence to imply politeness. The males add the word "krab" in the same manner (in Thai culture, a sentence spoken without the word "kah" or "krab" at the end is considered as impolite or rude).
