I got my tooth pulled today because it has been causing me MAJOR pain and was infected. Well I have more than one cavity but I'm getting root canal's for the other one's. The dentist just wanted to get the one that was causing pain out right away. However I'm not sure if he got the right one. Even though the tooth is gone, I'm still having pain. Is this normal, will it go away? or is it possible he pulled the wrong cavity?

Oh yea, I just got my teeth pulled about 2 hour's ago. Thank's!

you can expect it to still hurt pretty bad for the next couple days. when i had my last tooth pulled they gave me some pretty heavy duty pain killers. what you want to watch for is an increase in the pain. that could mean you have dry socket. thats relatively easy for your dentist to treat. also the teeth next to the one that got pulled my hurt from being pushed around while they pulled the bad one out. yes it is possible they pulled the wrong one but the chances of it are vary vary slim. give it a couple days. go in and get the rest of your teeth fixed then see how you feel.

You should still have pain. I had my wisdom teeth pulled about 6 months ago and it hurt for 3 weeks after. Trust me he pulled the right tooth. Maybe one of your other teeth hurt but after the root canal it will be better. Some teeth are just so far gone that they can be fixed with a root canal. My husband had a root canal on two teeth. The first one he got done ended up getting pulled anyways 6 months later (it just fell apart). The 2nd one he got done we went to a different doctor and he told him the a root canal don't work without putting a cap over it. We were never told that when he got the first one. So make sure you tell them to put a cap over it or it wont hold up long. Hope this helps.
