Whenever I make pancakes,I can rarely get an even,golden-brown side. They always end up a little burnt or one side darker than the other...How do I get an evenly browned pancake(like on the front of the box)?

I find it really helps to use a cast iron pan or skillet. When you pour batter on the pan, the pan cools down a little. Cast iron maintains its heat much better than aluminum, so the pan stays at a more even temperature.

Also I notice some recipes include a little melted butter in the pancake batter. My dad used to do this, to melt a little butter in the pan before making the pancakes, maybe a tablespoon or two, and then stir it into the batter. This seems to help, I'm not sure why.

you maybe using to much heat....try turning down the heat a little...and before you flip the pancake make sure that the batter is bubbling up all over...this means that one side and half way through the middle is cooked......when you flip it ..this side will take less time to cook so keep lifting and looking at the bottom and when it achieves the desired "look"....take it out........

best of luck in your quest for the perfect pancake .. = )

Watch it carefully rather than rely on timing. Turn it when first side is browned to your liking (peek under edge by lifting it with your spatula), remove it when second side is done to your liking.

try using a griddle instead of a pan. Even heat will eliminate the burning.
Other than that, they pic on the box, is just that.. a pic....most likely not real... "painted props"
