Whenever i bake my favorite chocolate cookies they stay soft and fresh for about 2 maybe 3 days and then they dont taste as soft and good. Is there a way to keep them softer and fresher longer?

I agree w/ everyone who posted above me...another thing you want to avoid is this:
storing them on a plate with foil or plastic wrap over them. NEVER works.
Place them in an air-tight container or plastic baggie.

Make sure you wrap them tightly, and stick them in the refridgerater. They will be hard at first but let them thaw for 10 min and they will be soft and fresh-tasting.

put them in a sealable container, dont leave them jsut sitting on a plate in the open air.. if you are trying to preserve them for a later date, put them in the freezer.

Keep them in zip-lock bags or Tupperware type containers.
