Yeah, not very spiritual is it? Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think Jesus would like the abuse that is being spewed in his name.
I don't know if I'd go so far as to say there's really not right or wrong thinking, but I can tell you I was quietly listening to a conversation last night between my brother and my cousin's wife about evolution vs. creationism. She was on the side of creationism (you know, the world is only 5K years old, etc. ) And I have to say, I think it's absolutely crazy, though I did not tell her that. I sat quietly and listened to what she had to say. I knew my thoughts would not be well received so I said nothing. Sometimes you just can't change a person's way of thinking.
I've come to understand that personal differences are what make us unique. Diversity is good. I mean really, who cares who was on Noah's Ark. Does it make a difference one way or the other?
Would everyone, please start using your powers for good! It's really bumming me out.

What's going on is it's hard to settle on one theory/belief/system, and what not.... for the same reason there is racism - ignorance - we will never come to peace on these issues. Some of us may be more open-minded, willing to listen and accept one's thoughts, but the majority of people are not willing/do not want to give other people's opinions and/or beliefs a second thought, let alone a chance.
I am not very much into religion... I'm not one to to say that there is or is not a GOD. I am not all too concerned about whose religion has it right, and whose doesn't... I try to flow with peace, and keep unity alive!
I can almost gaurantee someone will give me a thumbs down for my 2 cents, nonetheless, it's only an opinion, but ignorance is bliss.........

I think there can be fighting & rudeness in this section, I agree. But there is fighting & rudeness (especially when it comes to religious/ spiritual matters) in the outside world too.
Stick around for a while, I hope you soon realise that the good far outweighs the bad. There are some truly wonderful, wise, loving, spiritual beings in this section. Don't let the negative ones put you off.

I believe that....but there are many others who seem to get so personally insulted because someone doesn't automatically agree with their particular point of view. There are many people who are of the opinion that whatever they believe becomes the truth because they believe it. I've always thought that if one is strong and sincere in one's faith, there is no need to confront anyone else about their faith. You should also remember that a lot of the people on R&S are very young and very opinionated. That goes with the territory.
Edit: ROFLMAO! as has just been proved by the thumb's down to a statement without any predjudice whatsoever. Just didn't like it, is that it?

It's BECAUSE people have so many different beliefs and viewpoints that they argue. And yes there is right and wrong. I believe it is wrong to be prejudiced about a person's sexual orientation or gender because your religion says it's so. It's highly detrimental to society.
BTW. There are other sections that are way worse, IMO!! Like when people ask "What kind of toothpaste tastes the best?"

There are strong opinions on all sides of the issue of faith and religion. While I express my views, and try to explain the Christian faith to the best of my abilities, I try NOT to be RUDE about it.
However, there are a lot of "God-haters" out there... and I am not referring to "just" the atheists... who just can't resist being rude, disrespectful, and just down-right hate-filled about their comments and attitudes towards "God-believers." I just cannot understand the venom and vitrol towards those of us who chose to believe in ... according to them... someone who DOESN'T EXIST.. who is a FAIRYTALE... who isn't REAL. Can you imagine the same hatred expressed towards the Loch Ness monster, or Sasquatch? "Loch Ness Monster believers are STUPID because the Monster is a fairytale!" "Why believe in Sasquatch when there is NO EVIDENCE that it exists?" Just substitute those for "God" and you can just see the anger they have.
I can't say there's no anger on the "other" side, either. But it does anger me when I'm supposed to "respect" other's beliefs but there is not the same expectation of RESPECT for MY beliefs from them. That's called hypocrisy.. something the "God-haters" constantly accuse believers of being!
As for the THUMBS thing... I give thumbs up for those whom I feel get it right, or at least show RESPECT for ALL sides. I thumbs them DOWN for the hate and rudness of others, regardless of "side."
And there is a right and wrong, which is the sum-total of our entire argumentation in this section... the rightness and wrongness of our respective religions and faiths. It's good to argue, exchange, and inform, but there is a lot of deep feelings being expressed, which go to the very core of one's being. Criticize my faith and you criticize ME, for I AM my faith, and my faith is ME.
I hope this can enlighten you a bit... stick around... there are some good discussions and questions that happen here!
Have a blessed day!

Because we all have differing opinions on how we percieve God or how we don't. Religion is a taboo subject, it envokes all kinds of feelings, some positive some negative. The only real way to judge right or wrong is on an individual basis, is what I believe based in fact or theory, is what I believe ethical, do my beliefs infringe on the rights of others to have their own beliefs....these are the things you have to question. There are some belief systems that are wrong, because lets face it not all paths lead to God. It's all paths that are righteous lead to God.
