To get shocked you must complete the circuit, which means they would have to be touching more than one thing. Since they are only touching one line the circuit is not complete. Same thing goes if you put a bobby pin in one hole on an outlet you will not get shocked, but if you put them in both holes at the same time you will definitely get shocked.

all of the previous solutions are appropriate, although, did you pay interest that the legs of the chook can pose a sub-circuit to the main significant line? I recommend the present whilst reaches the 1st leg of the chook would be split into 2 areas: one passing the chook ft and physique; the different keeps its course in the process the cord. So why the present would not harm chook? the respond is the resistance of chook's physique is purely too plenty below the resistance of cord; consequently the passing contemporary with the aid of chook's physique is negligible and secure. although, if the cord became made up of a resistive cloth and the chook sits on it, then you could delight in a scrumptious rooster barbeque! it is the case once you touch 2 different areas of a heating element plugged into ability, even nonetheless your ft and physique be remoted from floor! a minimum of you may journey a bad marvel!!
