Yes, work around your injury.
I have a similar problem with my deltoids.
Only a doctor can tell you what is wrong with your triceps. I happen to know my injuries are recurrent sports injuries and when they bother me I find another exercise for that body part, lower the amount of weight I use and keep going. I also use Aspercream and Ben-Gay after a hot shower.

Seriously, if your injury persists, you need to have it looked at.

Lots of things. Could be a simple strain on the tendons and ligaments, in which case you rest it for a week or so. Try some Advil and some ice everyday too. Could be a small tear in the connective tissue, which means longer healing time. Could be major damage, in which case LOTS or rest, maybe surgery. If it doesn't get better soon check with a doctor. Take it easy for a while. One thing is for sure, sharp pains do not respond well to continued exertion and strain. You can't just "muscle" through it.

for rest and relaxation after the workout as someone said, bengay would work to sooth the pain, do not however use it to prevent pain for pain is a sign something is wrong, and you do not want to tear something because you dont feel whats wrong.
