Well any other sport they'd give him a "booster" and let him run around like an idiot, but this is the real world and not having your thumb could definately pose a problem. I totally forgot he was racing at I-80 speedway and didn't go. It's only a 1 hour 45 minute drive. I know, I'm an idiot!!!

Penske's already got a wrecking ball: Hornish lol. That really wouldn't be a bad idea though. Anyway, Carl might win another Nationwide race, but he will not win a Cup race this season. He's got too many issues that need to get taken care of. He needs to focus on the big picture and realize how much Saturday night's incident is gonna hurt him with other drivers, fans, sponsors.....basically anyone.

I dont think a dislocated thumb will harm him much in driving. he has another hand and can guide with that one and just hang on with the bad thumb hand. No big deal. And it could hurry him up to win so he can get out of car faster? LOL

Hopefully it won't be that big of a deal. He will most likely have it bandaged up nice and good. It could be painful on him, I would think, if it's the thumb on his right hand since it will be making the most movements shifting gears and going back and forth from the wheel.
I think he'll do just fine though.

I wonder if it said what hand the thumb was injured. I think if it was his left hand should not hurt his racing to much.
However if he has to shift and his thumb is hurt, it is probably going to bother him more than he thinks.

I just heard that today and it really depressed me I hope he can race! I think he should just take off from the Busch Series this week so it can heal better but I don't think he will!!!

1st.. Thanks for the info! I had no clue! (That's why I get for sleeping in!) LOL
To answer your question... I honestly think he will be fine. The medical staff on Roush will more than likely give him something for the pain & make sure it's wrapped up so it won't effect him.
At least that's what I am hopping!!
