Packard Bell actually make excellent Lap Tops. I've had this one for three years now and never a problem. And it's their bottom of the range model.

generally you get what you pay for. The likes of Asus and Acer are OK, they generally make half decent bottom of the range laptops which are perfectly fine if all you want them for is work. However a Toshiba or sony or something are more expensive and probably better made, ceratinly look nicer, but depends on how much you want to pay.

Since all of them are still in the market, it shows they at least NOT bad. The 'Best' depends on many factors like price, power consumption, easiness of use, quality control, after-sales-service etc.

It will be advisable to check with friends who use them because they can give you first-hand information.
