She attacked my toe and I think it is infected. I have been putting Hydrogen Peroxide on it, but that doesn't seem to help very much. What do I do?

btw to the peeps who want my neighbor to pay the medical bill, I was puppy-sitting for them. it's not really their fault... she attacked my toe instead of the chew-toy...

Go to the doctor and make sure the infection hasn't gotten out of control. Stop using peroxide. It can be used initially for cleaning but after the first day, it kills developing skin cells. plain soap & water is better. I note that you're not using a topical antibiotic.
Or if you prefer, try this: Twice a day for 10 days, wash your hands. Clean the toe with soap & water. Pat dry. Apply an antibiotic ointment and cover loosely with a bandaid. Wash your hands again. Avoid tight-fitting shoes, keep the toes clean and dry. If you see no improvement or see a worsening, see your doctor.

Depending on how bad the wound is you might consider going to see a doctor. Many people have heard that dog's mouths are much cleaner than human mouth. However they contain a load of bacteria that they can fight off because of their strong enzymes BUT they can pass that bacteria on to YOU. If it is infected it might be best to get a prescription for an antibiotic (such as Augmentin or Amoxicillin). Just to be safe.

I would see a doctor and present your neighbor with the bill. And if that little ankle biter got near me again, I'd kick it into the next county and sue the neighbor for not maintaining control of the little beast. Just because the dog is small does not negate the neighbor's responsibility to control it.

get to your doctor and get it checked out. talk to your neighbor and have them at least help you pay the bills as they do have the responsibility here. when you go back to the neighbors house, you need to maintain a calm assertive energy, and own the space around you. do not back down from the dog. make the dog back down. then you have the power over the dog. one more thing, dont fear the dog, they can tell when you are afraid of them.

See a doctor. You probably need a prescription anti-biotic. I hope the little dog has all it's shots. Rabies is a horrble way to die.
Your neighbors should put there little terror in a muzzle or on a leash, before they get sued.

you need to go to the doc and get antibiotics. animals, like humans, have dirty mouths and the wounds do tend to get infected. it's good that you initially put hydrogen peroxide on it, but it likely can't get all the way into the wound and you shouldn't need it for more than a couple of days. it's very likely that it is infected and you should go to your doc.

First off, does the dog have it's rabies shots? You need to find out right away.
Second, if your toe hasn't shown any signs of healing within 48hrs, you need to go to the Dr.

You need to go to your doctor for antibiotics. In some areas dog bites need to be reported to the local health authority.
