Please actually answer my question. The Bible claims homosexuality is not acceptable. However, it also says that a person should be stoned for committing adultery. I do not think that anyone would advocate stoning anyone these days. Therefore it is argued that homosexuality is similarly no longer prohibited. So the Bible is not a reliable source for ethical guidelines. Right? Then why can't I sleep with my favorite sheep? On what philosophical basis will you deny me the love of my life?

First of all, the main opposition to Same-Sex Marriage (SSM) in the USA these days comes from the bigoted and ignorant PSEUDO-Christian lemmings of the RRR Cult -- the "Religious" Radical Right. Who in NO WAY represent *actual* Christians.

We who are actual Christians are your normal, sensible, relatively-intelligent and tolerant next-door neighbors. We cmprise 94% of all of the USA's *professing* Christians. The RRR cultists make up the remaining 6%.

(*Professing* Christians comprise 83% of the USA's total population. The other 17% are non-Christians.)

The RRR Cult is steeped in both the legalism of the Old Testament AND abject **hypocrisy**. Since they WHINE about homosexuality, but IGNORE mediums and fortune-tellers, even though both are JUST as strongly condemned in the OT.

The RRR Cult is America's National Laughingstock.

Enjoy your sheep. May you both live long and prosper together. :)

You are making two errors:

1) You are confusing the validity of the punishment with the morality of the sin

Just because it is no longer necessary to stone someone who commits a serious sin does not mean that it is not a serious sin.

2) You are ignoring the teachings of the New Testament.

The New Testament makes it clear that homosexuals "shall not inherit the kingdom of God". Their punishment is now in the next life, not in this one. True, stoning is not *advocated* by the NT (although it is only decried in one instance), but homosexuality is *still* forbidden in the NT.

Another error is assuming that no one advocates stoning. Some "hard-line" Jews believe that the whole of the Mosaic Law should be followed to the letter.

Peace be with you,
I ask you, you state that the bible claims homosexuality is not acceptable and that a person should be stone for committing adultery, who told you these things were what God said.

Was it Moses, the prophets, Peter or Paul ?

I will tell you this, Jesus did not say these things, what did Jesus say concerning these things ?

Jesus said we shall not lust. and we shall forgive everyone their trespasses (sins),
so why is it that Moses, the prophets, Peter and Paul stories of what God said don.t match that of what Jesus said,

But did not Jesus tell Peter that the devil has a desire to have him, and that Satan would sift Peter like wheat.

But did not Jesus also say if you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father, Peter denied Jesus 3 times.

Is the God Jesus follows different from the God Moses, the prophets, Peter and Paul follow ?

What are Jesus' Words concerning this ?

John 1:17
John 6:32
John 10:7
Luke 24:25
Matthew 11:11

Now read the 3 temptation of Jesus in Luke 4:4-14, but pay close attention to Luke 4:6 and 4:9.
The devil claims that all the kingdoms and their riches of this world have been delivered to him, and he can give them to anyone he wants. Sound familiar (Abraham, Moses, David Just to name a few) all wanted the "Promised Land"

But Jesus told them my kingdom is not of this world !!!

The bible is a very old book. It has so many contradictions and things that do not make sense in today's world. We are constantly evolving as humans but our brains can only take in so much. Some people are scared by the changes in society so they cling to old views that are outdated and dont make sense (some biblical teachings). People are communal, being part of a group feels good and some people will say and do things just to feel part of something bigger. And hurt others who don't fit in to that vision.

It must feel really good to Christians to feel that they are bigger than life here on earth. The unfortunate thing about that view is they don't live for today and for here and now, and nothing changes...I say take charge of your own life and stop living in this fantasy land that religion will put you in. Live for now and here on Earth, why not? "Sanity is madness put to good uses, waking life is a dream controlled." George Santayana

You should read the entire bible. The new testament, established by Jesus Christ makes the law spiritual. It's no longer so much about right and wrong but humility and pride. We are to forgive the adulterer not stone them to death. However, the adulterer is still in sin and will be judged by God. Homosexuality is still a sin. Although we shouldn't punish a person for it, we shouldn't encourage them or act as if their sin is acceptable for marriage.

You were pretty good at lumping everything into one paragraph!

Homosexuality is mentioned as a sin in both the Old and New Testaments. Stoning was used as a means to execute in the Old Testament ONLY.

Christ was given to us to fulfill the Mosaic Law of the Old Testament and give us a New Covenant.

We no longer live under the Law, but under God's Grace. That doesn't excuse sin, however, which homosexuality clearly is. Sin is ALWAYS a choice.

The stoning of adulterers was in the OT; it is not necessary anymore. This kind of punishment is nullified by Christ's crucifixion and Ressurrection.

Beastiality and homosexuality are still prohibited.

Adultery and homosexuality is a sin. Stoning them is the punishment. What has changed is we don't stone them for it.

The Messiah didn't come to change the law but to fulfill it. Not one i was un-dotted and not one t was uncrossed. Read the Epistles of Jude, Peter and Paul - they all advise homosexuality is wrong.

That is because you were taught by the false teachers.

Jesus' ministry did not care about homosexuality
it was and is, all about ones spirituality..

Jesus' true ministry was about the laws of the Kingdom of God
and there is no flesh only spirit.

I can prove this for a fact...
