Hi. I tried selling avon before and it did not work for me. But I know many people who are successful at it. The reason they are succesful is because they have what is called a downline. They go out to malls or other public places and speak to strangers about selling avon and if they get them to sign up and sell, they make a profit off of everything they sell too. (this can be a good way to get people, but some stores do not allow soliciting) I know when I was approached, the lady just wouldn't take no for an answer, and I finally gave in. Then the downline builds as the new people you sign up go and try to get people to sign up with them and it goes on and on. They also sell a lot themselves by putting brochures in doctor offices, tanning salons, stores, work, church etc. These people are outgoing and not afraid to speak to strangers about it. I on the otherhand am not able to just go out and talk to everyone about it, nor am I pushy (not everyone is pushy) and you need that sort of attitude to sell anything in todays world. I sold for 3 months and didn't make much at all, but it was worth it for the discounts I got for myself. Good Luck!

Go to the WAHM Forum. There is a section for women who are involved in Avon and they could help you the best.

clubs (American Legion, VFW)

Always have a magazine (several) with you that you can give to anyone who you chat with (grocery store, any time in public)

good luck
