Do you mean sideswept bangs? If so, I can help you. You want to select the hair you are going to cut for the bangs and pull the rest back into a ponytail. Trust me, less is more. I find dry cutting much more accurate than wet. They should be at least the length of halfway down the bridge of your nose. Make a cut straight across so the are even all the way across. Then select a few teeny tiny sections and pull them straight out away from your head and cut small sections off at an angle so they look fringy.
The most important thing to make bangs "sideswept bangs" is the part. Make sure you part your hair with a deep side part...or the sideswept bangs won't work.
OK, hope this helped you.

By sidebangs, you mean side-swept bangs, correct? Okay, you part them EXACTLY where you will part them everyday, wet them, gather up the hair you will use for said bangs, and cut them diagonally. Now mind you, they shouldn't be cut too steeply, and the shortest bangs should never be cut above brow length.
That's all I can tell you, so good luck!

take the hair you want to cut and pull the rest back.
hold the hair between your fingers and cut your hair straight across but only half way. then do the same only make sure the rest is longer. do this depending on which side you will put your bangs. the longer side is what is near your ear

easy.
separate the hair to be cut. Tie the rest of it back.
Determine how long you want the result, holding the hair to be cut straight up in sections, cut. The curve of the top of your head will create the layers you are looking for.
If you want the center shorter, instead of holding the hair straight up, angle it to the opposite side (right goes left, left goes right).
have fun. you can't do it wrong, cutting hair is simple and it grows if you don't like the results.
I never cut straight across my hair, always into it, (kind of like pinking shears) more uniform finish.

sidebangs as in sideswept bangs? I just got them done a few days ago. by a hairdresser though. If I were you, I would print out a picture of a celebrity with the bangs you want and show it to your mom. If she is still unsure, head to the hairdresser and show them the pic, its a garuntee they can do it.
I brought in pics of Ashley tisdale and emma roberts. Their bangs seemed to be cute enough for me.

where your part is, in the front you want to push some of the hair to the other side of your head so you don't have a straight part anymore. then you cut the bangs at whatever length you want. if you're mom really doesn't know how to do it i suggest getting it cut at the hair dressers.

With moist hair, area from the ear line and comb forward, pin the rest back. Now comb quickly down and shrink bangs to backside of eyebrows and to the top of the eyebrows out, then to backside of the ear or needed length, do no longer overlook to permit for the size to attraction to-up inch or so every time it dries.
