(sigh) Yes, I have an attention-loving kitten. As soon as I walk in the door, she's right there meowing at me. The only way she'll stop is if I pick her up and pet her.
Truth be told, I actually DO miss her whist I'm at work and I like giving her lovin' upon my arrival. If she's being a bit demanding, I'll play with her for a while and then just go on about my business around the house. She'll get the idea. (granted, she follows me everywhere, but she won't cry).

Well it's not easy, but just let them sit in your lap and not pet even when they push under your hand. After a couple of days, they get the message you're not going to pet all the time. They'll always try again but don't all the time or you lose. My boy knows very well now and he still gets a lot of att: But he still tries sometimes. I have it so he sits on me only in the evening for a good rubbing. During the day he just gets passing pets.

I have a cat that also loves attention. Give her all the love and attention you can. One day you will realize how LUCKY you are to have such a loving and devoted friend. Do not put her off to tomorrow because of a lack of time. You are the center of her life. Tomorrows are always an uncertainly.

Mine is like that most of the time, but he has his limit. Occasionally his work of grooming himself is more important. If I am lying down, he will put himself at a 90 degree angle to me and put his tail over my shoulder. That's a clear sign that I am supposed to stay there and wait while he takes care of the task at hand. He gets very upset if I touch him at that time, or if I get up. When he finishes, he turns around and is ready for love or play.
