The Supreme Court decided long ago that it is unconstitutional to deny illegal immigrant children an education. The average cost per pupil / per year is ~$9000.
They also decided that the Emergency Hospitals must treat all illegal aliens, no matter what the problem is, whether or not they can pay. Therefore they use it as a "medical clinic" for all maladies - bad colds, bee stings etc.
This is all at the cost of the taxpayer, which does not include the majority of them, since many work under the table. Some do pay payroll taxes using a phony tax i.d. and claiming the maximum amount of dependents. That's where their tax paying ends other than sales tax.
So much for cheap labor. It's cheap for the companies that hire them, but the middle class taxpayers subsidize to provide medical benefits that the companies do not provide and educational benefits guaranteed by constitution.

If we allow ALL the people to come to the U.S. that want to - legal or not - would they still want to?

I live on the border....We get a great majority of Mexican children coming here everyday for an education....Our taxes have SKY rocketed! I am very frustrated we have to foot the bill....They have been building very NICE schools....While us citizens foot the bill, there are elderly paying very high property taxes on fixed incomes....I don't know how much longer we can afford to foot the bill for Mexican nationals, bringing their children here for an education....BUT I blame the school system FOR ALLOWING IT....Its truly disgusting...

During 9/11 we closed the border with Mexico, the schools closest to the border were EMPTY! Why because these students couldn't come over for school....This just tells you how much of a problem we have....I have two properties, just to give you an idea, I pay around $10,000 a year on property taxes....I don't have children in public schools, yet I am obligated to pay for foreign nationals to get a free education....

I understand the plight in the health industry. One takes the Hypocratic Oath, and legally can't turn someone away that is in need of medical assistance. Too many clinics and hospitals have turned the medical profession into a business instead of what it is - HEALTH CARE.

But I do not understand why in the educational system it should be looked at as a universal right. I mean, if one comes to this nation by legal means, then they should have every right to use all of the things this nation has to offer. But if one is here illegally, then they should not. What is the "incentive" coming here legally if one doesn't need to be here legally in order to have all that this nation has to offer?

I know that not all children in this nation are illegal - law states if they are born here, then they are US citizens. But I do think that the parents' legal status should have EVERYTHING to do with the status of the child. If a child is born within these borders and the parents are not in this nation legally, then the child should not be afforded automatic citizenship. That law needs to change. I am not saying that any child born to non-citizens should lose that right. But I do think that people in this nation illegally should not benefit from breaking our laws. And until that is changed, that is exactly what this ruling has to offer.

No, Why should they if they have not paid taxes? Furthermore, they do alot more in their illegal activites to gain more for their pockets while many americans who paid taxes get second hand services after these illegal alliens. Many Americans are paying so high taxes for everything that they buy so how in the world can they get their children better education if they have to work to pay for illegal childrens education and medical expense for both adults and children. The Supreme Court job is to represent the American people and our decisions, not illegal aliens and such so how did they come to decide it was unconstitutional to deny benefits to illegal aliens? Maybe they dont know who they suppose to represent. We all know that there are companies that hire cheap labor and looking for their own gain. But what about the many rich who hire these people to work in their homes and don't report it? They contribute to the illegals living here.
It does not matter how much we object, the government is still going to dish out these benefits to illegal aliens and they will surely continue to come into the US legal or not. They see the pot at the end of the rainbow. Who knows one day we might be working for these illegal aliens at the rate the government is going. I personally believe that illegal aliens will still be allowed to enter and will still continue to receive the benefits not due them no matter how much we cry and the middle man will still continue to struggle to make ends meet. As the Bible says, if you can't take care of your own family how will you be able to take care of someone elses' family? The government have found a way to do this. Take from american famiies to give to the illegal families. Questions on illegal aliens will continue because our government will continue to provide for them. I'm surprised that these illegal aliens haven't been given special exemptions to buy their food cheaper than we do. (Just opening another can of worms). If our government has taken care of its american people the way they should first, I would not object to helping illegal aliens but still not be in favor of them moving here.

From the Federal Government: nothing. From individual States: it all depends on the laws of the particular State, county, even city. I live in Texas and it almost seems like illegal Hispanics get more than US Citizens - this does not pertain to illegals from other countries because they are immediately deported but the Hispanic illegals are not, at least in Houston, Texas. They get welfare, free medical and so forth. If they commit a horrendous crime the Mexican government has to pay for their legal counsel in the USA. I am not being negative about illegal Hispanics because without them the economy of Texas would be ruined; Bush knows this and that is the reason he does not act on illegal immigration, because all his Texas friends who own businesses are profiting off the backs of the poor illegals who work for them.

Nope not any off it, Because US Citizens are having to pay for them. I pay a too much taxes as it is and the min reason its so freak en high because we have illegals sucking money out of our school that our for OUR kids not theirs. I don't see them paying a single dime and have ICE and INS on speed dial. Lock down our borders and kick everyone of them out of here.No one comes in our country with our legal papers nor can us citizens waste their money in Mexico, make the mexican public fix their screwed up country.Everyone would be surprised how much taxes would goes down.Don't get me started on medical coverage.

Yes, Companies that hire illegals don't pay for their health coverage and so on. So they are getting cheep labor and we get to flip the bill. I think these companies should get fined heavy if they are caught. I think if we enforced the laws here so many illegals from not just Mexico but from other countries as well would think twice before they came the illegal way.

You are leading people to believe that they qualify for "benefits" as in MA, food stamps, childcare assistance, etc. Which is handled on a state-by-state basis. And, they do NOT qualify for that in most places. Also, I think you are ill informed. The undocumented laborers that I know (personally) are employed hand in hand with citizens- so, the same office staff is deducting the same amounts from the same people. As for the "maximum amount of dependents" that isn't true. Most undocumented don't speak the language well enough to understand the form, and, therefore are taxed as "single- 1". I know this because I do taxes for several undocumented ever Spring, and, professionally, I attempt to get people the services they need.

I believe that all humans deserve to be treated medically. But if you are illegal after you are deemed fit, you should be deported. It is not our responsibility to support the poor, unskilled and uneducated from all over the world. We can't afford it. GW has almost ruined the country with his Iraqi agenda he inherited from his daddy. Let's not have to deal with another bankrupting situation like the illegals.

I strongly believe that illegal immigrants should not get the same healthcare and education that legal people get. They are robbing us of our hospitals and our children's education.
I understand that by denying them the right to emergency rooms and schools, it is cheating the children. But they come here for a better life for their children, right? If we took away the things that makes the life here for illegals better, maybe we wouldn't have so many illegals in the country.

If a person is ILLEGALLY in the country, they should be deported...period!! If they are sick...stabilize them and then send them back to their LEGAL country.
I live on the SW coast of FL and in the last few months we have had over 100 cubans illegally come to our country and because they had a foot on dry land they are now allowed to stay. Our country gives these people who do NOT respect our immigration laws to stay in our country ....Our country gives them an initial $10,000, food stamps, boarding, etc.
These are resources that many Cubans continue to use for years and years even though they can work and provide for themselves. WE, as tax payers, are footing this bill.
I would like to send all illegals back...have them wait in line like the LAW ABIDING immigrants and I would also like to revoke the "wet foot dry foot" provision that allows Cubans to stay. Rather than come and use our resources...they should stay in their homeland and work on changing things there. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!
