Last night I was feeling very nausiated and dizzy, but I ate healthy and went to the gym in the morning before I started feeling ill (I did 75 minutes of cardio [1150 calories] and then 1 hour of leg and ab weights/exericses [switching back and forth]). This morning I had a bowel movement and there was a clot of bright red blood (it didn't hurt, however). When I wiped, there was blood as well. I am feeling dizzy and a bit nausiated today as well. What could this be? Is this something very serious? Should I go to a doctor? And if so, right away or can it wait until after I've finished working. Is it a bad idea to workout today? Thank you for your answers. I am a bit scared right now.

Honestly, I do not have an eating disorder. I have been following weight watchers for a couple years and eat healthy foods of all food groups. Normally I don't work out that much, but Sunday morning I was feeling really energetic and motivated to get in really good shape. I didn't think that what I did could be that bad?

It's hard to tell based on my stools since I have serious IBS. I have been back and forth to the doctors and specialists for over a year now trying to figure out what could be causing my stomach problems. This is the first time bleeding has occured though.

Hi. How much blood came out? If it was enough to dye the toilet water red then you need to call a doctor immediately (this happened to my mom and it turned out her intestine was bleeding and this is very serious!). If it was just a little bit of blood it could just be from hemmroids. If the amount really concerns you I would call your doctor. What worries me is that you are also feeling dizzy and nausiated (my mom also experienced this when she was losing large amounts of blood). I would call a doctor anyway and get their opinion. Better safe than sorry.

Bleeding from the rectum is a symptom of another problem. I suspect given your description of your excessive workout that there is more going on here than you have posted - for example an eating disorder or extreme diet of some sort. Both of these can cause bleeding of the digestive system and dizziness due to low blood volume and anemia. You do need to see a doctor. I can tell you from experience that your workout schedule is not normal.

Don't workout today.
Are you sure it isn't just hemorrhoids?
If it was a clot and/or blood was in your stools, see a doc. You are probably not in danger by waiting until after work. If it becomes more noticable as the day progresses, go.
Have you noticed that your stools have become more "narrow" than usual?
This could be a sign of polyps in the colon and with blood can be serious.

Don't work out anymore today, make an appointment at your doctor right away. I don't want to scare you but bleeding like that could be serious, it could also just be a hemorrhoid or something, but get it looked at soon.

I would think that you might've torn something while working out. Either way, I would go to the Doc because unless it's your period, blood in stool is never a good sign. I wouldn't go to work, I'd go to the doctor. And yes, I would think it's a very bad idea to work out today.

You should see a doctor right away. it could be a signof something simple like a virus.
Have you been taking any medicines such as cold medications or pain killers before this happened? Sometimes meds can cause bleeding.

The nausea and dizziness are very concerning. Call your doctor and tell him what you just typed. I’m willing to bet that he’ll want to see you right away. If you are really dizzy, then get a friend to drive you to the doctor’s.

Stop and call the doctor. Your symptoms could be serious and require medical attention. If it is something minor - then good.....but at least you will know. I would not suggest working out until your doctor has said okay.
