when you take "blood fractions" in your treatment, it comes from people like me, who used to be a member of your group but who now are not part of it? if you do not donate blood, you should be able to, especially if you're able to use "blood fractions" in your treatment options. Those blood fractions have to come from somewhere, which is from blood donations from people like me.

are you allowed to donate blood for the general population? That is my question. And your blood transfusions/fractions don't come from your family, they come from the general population. In emergency surgery, there is no time for families to store up blood and have it parcelled into fractions and it has to come from the general population. I can tell you're not answering my question.

So, keiichi and all Jehovah's Witnesses: you're willing to take apostate blood fractions (via my blood) into your body but you can't say hello to me or eat dinner with me?

Hannah, did you realize you can vote if you want to? Also, I would hope you would consider helping your brothers and sisters by donating some of which you so willingly take advantage of if you need it (our blood). I, of course, give freely, knowing I can't count on others such as yourself to step up and do the right thing.

I want to know where I'll get my blood fractions if I should ever need them if nobody donates...

The Jehovah's Witnesses elders will investigate and disfellowship any JW who takes a blood transfusion OR donates blood,to say the issue is a 'personal conscience matter' is lie to keep the Watchtower out of lawsuits.Rank & file JW's are indoctrinated to be scared to death of blood.

Know this ,the Watchtower rules Jehovah's Witnesses like the Vatican rules Catholics. The Watchtower's rules against blood transfusions will eventually be abolished (very gradually to reduce wrongful death lawsuit liability) even now most of the blood 'components' are allowed.

In 20 years there will be artificial blood and the Red Cross will go on with other noble deeds.
None of these changes will absolve the Watchtower leaders or vindicate their twisted doctrines

In the past physical medicine had been in its enfantcy. Blod transfusion did not work because of unmatched blood types. This remained a problem untill the idea of bloodtype matching became the solution ,and as a result the medical world was able to save lives thru modern blood transfusion techniques. today a person can saves his own blood before an operation and have his own blood transfusion.
Now whether the Bible condone suicide by refusing a life saving transfusion is something left for interpretation.
Not all religious interpretation are practical and wise.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not entirely disallow all blood donations by their adherents. However, many or most Jehovah's Witnesses would choose not to donate blood since they have little or no control over the godly or ungodly purposes toward which the blood might be used.

In harmony with the bible (especially Acts 15:20,28,29), Jehovah's Witnesses reject transfusions of whole blood and the four primary components which approximate "blood". However, an individual Witness is likely to accept a targeted treatment for a targeted need. The religion tolerates the use of minor blood fractions derived from plasma, platelets, and/or red/white blood cells, and presumably these would come from blood donations.

"Our Kingdom Ministry" of November, 2006 (pages 3,4)
[quote]
Of course, many fractions are derived from blood that has been donated for medical purposes. Each Christian should make a conscientious decision as to whether he or she will accept or will reject the medical use of these substances. ...Although [Jehovah's Witness] Christians do not donate or store their own blood for transfusion purposes, some procedures or tests involving an individual’s blood are not so clearly in conflict with Bible principles. Therefore, each individual should make a conscientious decision... Your decisions should be your own and should not be based on someone else’s conscience. Likewise, no one should criticize another Christian’s decisions. In these matters, “each one will carry his own load” of responsibility.—Gal. 6:4,5.

Jehovah's Witnesses: are you allowed to donate blood?

No.

Those blood fractions have to come from somewhere, which is from blood donations from people like me.

If you do not approve of the handling of blood once you donate it then it would be in your best interest to follow the bible and have it poured out in the first place. - Deu 12:16

you're willing to take apostate blood fractions (via my blood) into your body but you can't say hello to me or eat dinner with me?

JWs are your neighbors but they do not want to ignore scripture that says do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers.

The Holy Bible shows the problem of foolishness. Jacob had no problem buying Esau's birthright for next to nothing. If people get upset for giving away something then they should not have done it in the first place.

What???

Jehovah's Witnesses do not take blood transfusions or donate blood.

You ex-Witnesses think you are so smart, but you don't know what you are talking about. You are no longer part of the congregation, you get a small bit of information from somewhere or someone and try to make a issue about it, but you don't have the whole story, because you have rejected Jehovah and you are in now in darkness.

Get your facts straight before you start spreading your lies.

It is true that the Bible-trained conscience of some Witnesses allows them to take blood fractions. Others do not take it in any form whatsoever.

You are right, of course, the blood can be broken down into fractions and the blood comes from those who donate. Do Witnesses donate blood? Pointedly, no, Jehovah's Witnesses do not donate blood. The implication of your question seems to be that since Jehovah's Witnesses do not donate blood, they ought not to be allowed to benefit from those fractions derived from blood donated by others.

Perhaps you are aware that Jehovah's Witnesses also do not become involved in the elections of those in the legislature. Perhaps you feel that they ought not to benefit from the laws of the land passed by the legislature which laws protect all citizens. Jehovah's Witnesses do not become involved in the field of law enforcement if being armed with a weapon is a requirement. Perhaps you feel that they ought not benefit from police protection.

There are countless persons who never donate blood but receive transfused blood and fractions thereof. There are countless persons who never donate organs but receive them as transplants. There are countless persons who never donate to the American Red Cross but are assisted by them in times of emergencies. There are countless persons who never donate to Goodwill but receive help from them when needed. If you are suggesting that those who do not donate ought not to benefit, your line of reasoning is a bit flawed.

trk..........Why don't you tell us what the facts are? You know why we may not know the Facts ? Because your Faithful and Discreet Slave keeps changing their mind and seeing "new Light" ..They change the rules constantly..

You JW's are the ones that need to keep your facts straight. You are the ones who think you are so smart and have all of the answers...It is a very dangerous thing to think that you have all the answers and you will not question anything that the WT tells you..You are following man and not God.
You tell everyone that you have LOVE among yourselves and that identifies you as the true religion. You have love that is not genuine..it is given then taken away as soon as one disagrees with your beliefs...
The Bible states that you are to love everyone..but it seems your love is conditional..You do no more than the tax collectors do when you love only your brothers and sisters.
Christians have true love ..unconditional love for all people ..They love JW's ..they love former JW's..they love Atheist..they love Catholics..they love each and every person the same..regardless of their beliefs..
The common bond that all Christians share..is the bond of their love and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as our savior..

I don't know what you rules are now about blood..But, I have to wonder just how many JW's have lost their lives waiting for the rules to change..Because I know for fact that at one time this was not allowed.

LOL...I just read that ldybug finds it amusing that we think that the Watchtower runs their lives...In her rebuttal of this observation, she quotes out of Watchtowers...LOL

P...you are doing great...what a good question and point. they have no answer for you because your question is fair and logical and they can only do and say what they have been trained to do or say....

Here is what I think the issue really is...the faithful and discrete slave class rea getting old...looking at their own mortality...may have to dye for their beliefs? I think NOT...Rules will change to make them more comfortable...first..Organ transplants become,OK...then we have"new Light" an parts of Blood are OK (what a criock) even though, there is no new scripture on the subject.....soon "New Light" again and VOILA blood transfusion is not unbiblical.....Wake up those of you who are following the false prophet....Get on your knees and ask God to Guide you....

We will keep them in prayer and if it be HIS will, they will see, and if not, they won't

I wouldn't use any part of another person's life force and I've been in that situation. After I was out of ICU several nurses came in to see me and said they wished more people would not use blood as the supply is not safe.

The saline was just fine and my recuperation time was faster also. For the most part Witnesses don't use any part of another person's blood. It's a conscious issue.

This is for Danny and others who share his viewpoint: I find it amusing that people think the Watchtower rules our lives. Have you looked into one? Try it sometime. It's full of scriptures along with helpful information. If you study a subject in school, do you not have a textbook? or a workbook of some sort?

However if we had no Watchtower for whatever reason, our beliefs would remain the same - because they are taken from the Bible. In answer to the blood issue, the Bible says to abstain. Period. So as not to raise an issue about The New World Translation here are the scriptures in the King James Version (and any other version you choose to look at)...

Acts 15:28,29 - For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
That ye ABSTAIN from meats offered to idols, and FROM BLOOD, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Gen 9:4 - But flesh with the life thereof, which is the BLOOD thereof, shall ye NOT EAT.

Lev 17: 11-14 - Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, NO SOULD OF YOU SHALL EAT BLOOD neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.
And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even POUR OUT THE BLOOD thereof, and cover it with dust.
14: For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall EAT THE BLOOD OF NO MANNER OF FLESH: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: WHOSOEVER EATETH IT SHALL BE CUT OFF.

Acts 28:20 - But that we write unto them, that they ABSTAIN FROM pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and FROM BLOOD.

It is quite clear that the Bible states over and over again (six times within these scriptures alone) to abstain from blood. Is there really any question as to what God is saying?

Does the Watchtower go against the scriptures? Here is a portion of what it says regarding blood and our conscience: "Such information brings conscience to the fore. Why? Christians agree on the need to follow God’s guidance, yet in some areas personal judgments must be made, and conscience comes into play. Conscience is the inherent ability to weigh and decide matters, often moral issues. (Romans 2:14, 15) You know, however, that consciences differ. The Bible mentions that some have ‘consciences that are weak,’ implying that others’ consciences are strong. (1 Corinthians 8:12) Christians differ in the extent to which they have made progress in learning what God says, in being sensitive to his thinking, and in applying such to their decisions.

What the Bible says about conscience is helpful when we make such decisions. The first step is to learn what God’s Word says and to strive to mold your conscience by it. That will equip you to decide in line with God’s guidance rather than ask someone else to make a ruling for you. (Psalm 25:4, 5) As to taking in blood fractions, some have thought, ‘This is a matter of conscience, so it doesn’t make any difference.’ That is faulty reasoning. The fact that something is a matter of conscience does not mean that it is inconsequential. It can be very serious. One reason is that it can affect individuals whose conscience differs from ours. We see that from Paul’s advice about meat that might have been presented to an idol and was later sold in a market. A Christian ought to be concerned about not ‘wounding consciences that are weak.’ If he stumbles others, he could ‘ruin his brother for whose sake Christ died’ and be sinning against Christ. Hence, while issues about tiny blood fractions are for personal decision, those decisions should be taken very seriously.—1 Corinthians 8:8, 11-13; 10:25-31.

A related aspect underscores the seriousness of decisions concerning blood. This is the effect such decisions may have on you. If your taking a small blood fraction would trouble your Bible-trained conscience, you should not ignore it. Nor should you suppress your conscientious leaning just because someone tells you, “It’s all right to take this; many have.” Remember, millions of people today ignore their conscience, and that becomes deadened, allowing them to lie or do other wrong things with no remorse. Christians definitely want to avoid such a course.—2 Samuel 24:10; 1 Timothy 4:1, 2."
