It is more than "God" being dead or losing control...
It is more of a "need for God" being dead....
In the old times, most things that mankind learned were passed down in oral traditions.... Like don't pee into the wind...
With writing, mankind was able to keep more knowledge.. Throughout the ages, those who could read and write used this knowledge to teach others... Some used it as a method of control to the multitudes who could do neither...
In today's age, most can read and write... Science is the new god. It brings an end to many forms of suffering, brings longer healthier lives, brings knowledge to the ignorant....
So the god of old is DEAD... most of his followers are still searching for his body....

God is Alive and He is eternal. He was there in the Beginning and He only be there when every thing vanishes. He is Independent and is in no need for any body's help. If He wants anything sufficiet for him to say: 'BE' and it is there!
He was not begotten by anyone nor has He begotten any son or daughter. He has created everything without any model. He is capable of destroying all and create anew. His creations only are subjected to death and death could not touch Him!
He has been manging the world for time without any count.
He is oft forgiving and loving and caring God.He has control over every thing. He does not test any person beyond his capacity to withstand,He does not any nation unless the people therein have found the way to their exit.

God is very much alive and always with us. He could take control if he wanted. The problem is everyone has free will, so people aren't forced to follow Him. And this is what happens to the world. And I'm NOT saying that God is deliberately punishing people because they aren't following Him. I'm saying that these are the results of people's actions.
Just think if everyone followed God's will -- loving Him with all your heart and all your soul, and loving your neighbor as yourself. The problems in the world would be minimal.

Though many people seem to think differently, God is always in control.
People just don't let him lead them.
That's why people are out of control.
God is the spirit in every person whether they believe it or not, and though they may call the spirit another name other than God, it is all the same spirit.
You just have to listen to it, or maybe I should say feel it.
Of course some people don't want to and would rather think they have no spirit of any kind in them.

If you are talking about the earth, then let me tell you that God does not rule the world, 2 cor 4:4. Satan does. When the Devil offered all the kindoms of the world to Jesus, Jesus did not said to him they don't belong to you. which clearly shows that satan has them under his control. The Devil told Jehova God, that people can rule them self without his help. (big mistake). God has let Satan prove his point and the Devil has try all types of goverments, but they all have failed which shows that he is loosing control he can't prove his point. you see Satan the Devil is the one that has loosing control, and soon he will loose control forever.
