I use nexium right now but notice I have the worst flareups if I eat anything after 6 pm.........

I suffer from GERD as well. Unfortunately, there are some things in life that one has to give up for ones health. I gave up spicy foods when I was diagnosed. I take Omeprazole. It's my best friend. I never have flare-ups and I can eat practically anything but I choose not to...

I'm not sure it's the spicy foods as much as the quantity you eat and the time of day.

Losing ones "beer belly," eating smaler portions, not eating a few hours before bedtime all help to reduce acid reflux.

One thing you can check on is "candida". I also read that apple cider vinegar (the kind you get at the health food store which is very different from the grocery type) is supposed to help, but I don't know if that is true. Try using acidophilous for your digestion, or possibly some digestive enzymes.
