Shocks, rims/tires, ride height and the stickers on the box side. The FX4 has factory Rancho shocks installed.

The shocks are Rancho, but bottom and I mean bottom of the line. You get some nifty stickers, and a different instrument cluster than the XLT. The FX4 also comes standard with skid plates. The interior options are also slightly different on what you can get in terms of trim and color. I find it really hard to believe they are the same price. See if the XLT has options that you may have overlooked, like added skid plates, or a limited slip differential in 4.10 vs. 3.73 I added some options to my XLT and ended up with the same truck minus stickers and dash bezels (Rancho shocks are mostly just stickered at that model)
