Hey Stephen,
It may be honest from your point of view to tell that you just want the job for the money, but it is not right. I do some hiring from time to time and will never hire someone who only need it for "the money". I do not expect someone I hire to be with me eternally, but I expect things from him while he is with me. The minimum is some interest in the job (learning, practicing or using a certain skill). A job is an experience, so for the job you applying for, what would be the experience you are expecting (even a Mc Job can give you the experience of team work or customer care). That's what you will need to put in this field.

Take care.

Not a good idea to put that I'm afraid, you won't even get your foot in the door for an interview. The only way to get jobs these days is to exaggerate just a little bit, depends how much you want the job. By putting down on the application form that you just want to earn money will only tell the employer that you can't really be arsed and that anything will do so I can't imagine them wanting to meet someone who puts that - sorry !
Why don't you just make something up even though you may not want a career out of it, they will never know will they :o)

As Tiger says, tell a fib, I was turned down once for job when I suggested 'the enhanced financial package' would be nice, but to tell the truth, I've done my fair share of interviewing and if someone doesn't admit the money would nice then I'm not believing them and it counts against them because I think their lying which is worse then being ambitious for more money, my rationale being that no one changes job for anything other than money

Any application form should always be done in a black pen. My big brother went to join the fire brigade and he although he failed the fitness test, he heard that any applicaiton form in any other colour, is automatically thrown in the bin, Sad but true.

In the job section, maybe you should put something about an ambition to learn new skills and meet new people, that you want to be in a team and be a good contributor to whateevr you are working in.

It is always better to be honest , but you can be too blunt!!!Why not put that you want to gain more experience of a work environment whilst earning some money,
Still same sort of answer but a bit more of an invitation to any prospective employer .

Although in the real world that's all you want the job for the comany won't want to know this....

Tell them you want the job for hands on experience.

Research the comany and tell a white lie that your interested in them....

otherwise to be honest you probably wont even get an interview....

Good Luck

Sometimes it's just got to be done though do you really want to be stuk somewhere you don't like ?

Well, strictly speaking they don't want to hear that- they want to see you are going to stick around. I am always tempted to say that you are advertising the job and i need one- after all none of us go to work because we want to- well there are probably exceptions because there are to everything. But we go for jobs because we have to. I feel sure employers must know this???

What they really mean is "Why do you want THIS job and not the one across the street?"

The best answer to always put here is something like "I've been shopping/eating at _______ since I was little, and I always thought it looked like a fun place to work."

Put that and you will have no chance with the job, even if it is the truth.

I would put something like : To gain experience in this field of work and the wages are attractive.
