Go for a digital single lens reflex. I am partial to the Nikon line (D40 to D2x) but I hear the equivalents in the Canon line are as good.

i've had my share of digital cameras. I'm a gadget freak.
Any model of Canon will satisfy your needs for a very long time.

I like the Nikon D-40 but its more expensive! But its the best i have found so far even though i do like some others but i mostly use Nikon D-40!
