Abortion is wrong unless pregnancy jepoardizes the life of the mother. In that case, abortion is the better of two evils.

In the case of rape, ideally I'd say that the baby should be allowed to live. If a woman did decide to abort, I wouldn't blame her.

In the case of the first trimester, and if it wasn't a rape, unless the mother's life is in jeopardy, the baby should always be allowed to live.

If the mother is poor and/or young and/or unmarried, that isn't an excuse for murdering an unborn baby.

Btw, this question should be addressed to all theists, not just Christians.

I agree... When the only way to avoid abortion is death, it makes more sense to abort in order to at least save the mother's life. Like in the case of a tubal or ectopic pregnancy... The baby may be completely healthy but to allow the pregnancy to continue would kill both mother and baby, so "abortion" in this case would be the smartest decision. But, I must disagree with others that say abortion is okay in rape or incest, because there is the morning after pill...and not all incest is involuntary. If it was a matter of a young girl who was molested by a family member, or another person, and got pregnant and was forced to have an abortion, I would certainly not hold the sin to her charge one bit, and I don't believe the Lord would either. But I believe in circumstance, and although I have been disagreed with, I think God does, too.

Really though, the only time were this is the case ("this" being the mother will most likely die from a continued pregnancy) is ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. However, they don't perform abortions on tubal pregnancies. The perform a procedure in a hospital which removes the baby from the mom without harming it and places him/her into water, along with the amnion sack. The baby dies comfortably.

Abortion is different. It is the act of destroying a child and then discarding. Removing an ectopic pregnancy is exactly that, removing it. Certainly the child will die, however it will not be at the hand of a doctor, just nature.

They never do an abortion on a pregnant woman to save her life. They give her a Cesarean section and try to save not only her life but the babies also. Nobody who delivers babies does abortions. Abortionist are the ones who do abortions. Why would you want to get your baby aborted instead of getting it delivered and saving your own life and maybe your babies also.

I agree that there is one exception to abortion. At first I didnt get it! but my husband explain it! I understood it! that if you the baby is cause you to death then it is best for the abortion so least one life can live. That is what I got from the website! Other than that, that is the only reason there should be a abortion.

You are assuming that all Christians are anti-abortion and that all anti-abortionists are Christians. This is a fallacious assumption.

well, when you say that abortion is a sin, you mean, of course, that in your estimation it is a sin for YOU.

i have much respect for someone who tells me "MY religion makes this and that demand on ME"
i have much contempt for someone who tells me "MY religion makes this and demand on YOU".
i will support someone whose faith makes demands on them to the extent of trying to assist them in whatever those demands might be.
i will go waaay out of my way to do the opposite of whatever demands are trying to be imposed on me.

wasn't there something said about "don't look at the speck in your brothers eye, rather to the log in your own"? if you are truly following 'the word' it might be a good idea to start there!

I agree with that exception, and a couple of others. I also favor allowing abortions in the case of rape, incest, and when the mother requests one in the first trimester.

With hesitation I agree with the exception. Because of medicine advances nowadays, it is very rare for the mother to be in mortal danger.

Of course the Mom should be saved in that circumstance I always thought that.
But why oh why do people justify killing? They will have no excuse, and people will answer for this.
