Owner of the house wants live in person off the property but person will not leave. Theres no contract or lease and ignores owner when asked to leave the house. Will not open the door when home or answer the phone to discuss.

You do not say if the person has ever been allowed to live there, even by a simple agreement (boy friend, girl friend, acquaintance) for even a short period of time.

If the person has been allowed to live there, you will probably have to go through a legal eviction process.

Good Samaritans often get burned by this attempt to help someone they thought they could trust.

Check with legal aid in your community to learn what your rights are in your particular situation.

the lease is there to protect the tenant not the landlord.

it's an ugly thing to do, but serve the person with an eviction notice.

after that, it's in the hands of the police...
