Put up flyers at stores in about a 10 mile radius of where you found her. Advertise in the local paper. Usually they let you advertise found pets for free.
Also, keep an eye out for lost pet ads and lost pet flyers in your area.
Call the humane society and animal shelter and describe the dog you found. Sometimes an owner will call those places if they've lost a pet to see if someone has dropped her off.
Take her to the vet to see if she has a microchip implanted in her. This should be checked at no cost to you.

Good luck!

is there a tag on the collar? if not take her to a vets and ask if they can scan for a chip that should have the owners name and address embedded in the skin on her neck.

However if you dont find the owner consider kepping the dog border collies are highly rewarding pets I have had my pippa a shorthaired for 3 years.

U also got to wonder if the owner really cares after all you say she has been wandering a while and is dirty which doesnt display much affection or care to me especially since she is pregnant and shouldnt be wandering the street.

!!! people who allow their dogs to walk the streets with the traffic and careless drivers these days obviously dont give a damned about the life of their pet !!!

However alot of dogs have been stolen recently and bred before being dumped after the puppies are weaned. This could be a escapee from such a case.

What ever you decide to do thank you for taking the time to care for her and for showing someone has time to do the right thing.

EDIT: Try posting Fliers. The flier should include a photo of the pet (preferably color), a brief description, the date, and your telephone number. It is also a good idea to include the area the pet was found. Try to cover about a 2 mile radius of where you found her, post fliers on telephone poles and pet supply stores.
Call local shelters and vet offices and see if anyone has reported a missing Border Collie. Some radio stations will announce lost and found pets.
Post a found ad in the local newspaper. Many papers provide this service at no charge for missing pets.
Check the Internet for websites that will post information about missing pets. Some to try include: http://www.pets911.com/index.php and http://www.petfinder.com/
OR go to your local vet and see if she has been microchiped ( http://www.homeagainid.com/ ) since you say she is a pure breed Border Collie.

Are there any tags on her collar? If so, is her name on it? (I'm assuming there's no phone # or address) You could go and see if she is licensed in your town (if its possible to look up a dog by just its name).

Find someone with a scanner to see if she's chipped. Put up some notices about a lost dog, but dont describe the dogs appearance, just the breed and approximate age etc. that way you know that whoever comes to you and can describe the dog to you is the real owner.

Well, first, check the tag. Is there a phone number or adress? If so, call it, or go to it, and give them their dog back. maybe you'll receive a reward. ^-^ If there isn't anything on it, make some posters saying, "Found Border Collie" and supply your phone number, and post it on mailboxes [if they arent personal] and poles. And wait a week. And if someone doesn't claim her until that time, then I would keep her. =D
