My ex husband and his new wife are using the police to harass me... two male police were sent to my home and inspected my vehicle and now are hauling it in for a complete inspection after a complaint from my ex about some mechanical problems. I have not done anything wrong and have not even driven the vehicle

nothing to do with the sex, but when the police make house calls should they not send a female and a male instead of two men to a home of woman and children.??? it was a bit intimidating to me...

if it was a legal complaint made to the police, you cannot charge them with harassment... but you can sue your ex for harassment. but if the police is took your car without a warrant and there is nothing wrong with it... there is a case right there... but i suggests that you fix your problem with your ex because that is the root of the problem. if he is still bugging you for no apparent reason, free yourself from him more so...

Call the station, talk- calmly- to the CO (Commanding Officer)
and explain the situation.
If the cops are in the wrong, they'll hear about it. you won't but they will.

That is harassment by your ex though. Call the DA and tell them you think he's trying to interfere with your right to make a living, and that he's stalking you.
Let the S.O.B. EX know what it feels like.

EDIT: they send whoever is available. Male, Female, Man & Dog.

Cops.

Since I see so many 'beater' cars parked or being driven without police intervention, I wonder what reason was used to take yours.
And yes, police are charged with harassment all the time- I don't know how successfully.
