Is there any difference between these brands ? Which is better ? I noticed that Friskies is more expensive than 9 Lives. Which brand of canned cat food do you recommend ?

You should check the ingredients. Cats need a lot of protein in their diet because they are true carnivores. You want a real meat product to be listed first, like chicken. Look for things like Corn meal, if that is something listed very high on the ingredients then its not a good food because it doesnt give the cat the protein needed. Here's a link with some info about cat food labels and diet requirements.

Basically any type of cat food you find in a grocery store isn't good. You need to check the ingredients in the food; the first few incredients are the main ones. The ones you listed have a lot of fillers and grains (which cats have a hard time digesting). I asked this question a week or two ago and did some research as well. Here are some foods that are high quality; they are more expensive but it will be worth it in the long run. Also, make sure you integrate the food change with your current food to prevent upset tummies. I got my cat Wellness CORE it's all protein and he loves it. Hi

As far as quality goes, there isn't much difference. fancy feast is the next step up from those 2. as the first ingrediant in FF is a muscle meat whereas in the other 2 it may be something like liver.
I am glad that you are choosing canned foods over dry. Contrary to what many believe, canned foods are much healthier for your cat.

Both use by-product meat (meat treated with chemicals and by law declared "unfit for human consumption") so neither is something you should want for your cat's food.

I believe Friskies does more national advertising which is passed on to you in the cost of the food.

Just different name brand,"recipes". The food to recommend is any quality , healthy brand, that your cat will eat. Won't do any good to buy it if your cat won't eat it!

I wouldn't suggest either one, I'd go with Nutro Max or MaxiCat.
