Ive read some on the posts and why do women assume men want to only date skinny women and are prepared to starve and ruin their body and think they need to just to go on a date?
Totally bizarre and very very sad for the women involved.
I cannot imagine a man would find this sort of thing remotely attractive.

Not at all. Men don't like girls with serious hang ups about their bodies! My girlfriend has curves, but doesn't worry about it. She goes to the gym to stay fit, not to exercise herself down in size! Plus, she'll happily eat a large pizza and chicken wings with me watching TV. Now that's an ideal girl!

Men perhaps don't find skinny women attractive, but these days take a walk down any High Street, and you will see that the majority of women are 'odd' shaped, very rarely do you see (apart from teenagers) a woman with a good, well proportioned figure. That is why modelling has seized the chance to promote this unhealthy lifestyle.
Fast food and unhealthy eating is in most cases to blame.
I would be interested to see a survey (an honest one) carried out that asks women specifically what they would 'change' about themselves overnight....I'm no expert but I'm guessing that the vast majority would opt for a weight change!!!

MOST men don't find stick insect women attractive.
Unfortunately, the most successful men (including rich ugly ones) are used to women competing for their attention. This type of guy wants to date a woman who shows what an attractive guy he is. Starving herself into a 'hollywood lollipop' shows how hard she's willing to compete for his attention, therefore how desirable his attention is.
The same kind of guy will usually drive a very 'virile' car, because he's too insecure about his image to drive something more practical.
Perhaps the fundamental problem is that the vast majority of people want to be (and be seen as) better than 'average'. They also want to be more than averagely attractive, and attract a very attractive partner. What counts as 'attractive' starts to depend on what everybody else seems to desire, instead of your own preferences.

I don't think most men are overly concerned with only dating skinny women. I think the problem is womens perceptions of what men are attracted to.
I think most men prefer a women to be of a healthy weight, which really women should aim to achieve for their own good and not just to please a man.
Personally I would define a healthy body as one that has no excess fat and is toned, but different people will have different views on this I am sure.

I am a man and I assure you that I do not find skinny women attractive at all. Real women should be well rounded - even plumpish. I onece was in bed with a woman and I put my arm round her and felt her ribs. I felt sick.

I think if you ask most men they will say they like their women with nice curves. I know I don't want to be sleeping with someone that could be mistaken for a young boy.

its extremely unattractive to see a woman unable to even walk down the high street because a slight breeze makes them fold like an umbrella.

my husband is just the opposite, he fattened me up telling me I looked like a cancer patient and unhealthy at my lower weight.
