The Tannaïtic Midrash Sifre to Numbers in §157 comments on the above quoted commandment of MOSES to kill the Midianite women as well as the male children...."
"....According to the Tannaïte Rabbis, MOSES therefore had ordered the Israelites to kill all women older than three years and a day, because they were [virgins and] "suitable for having sexual relations." [138]...."
"Said Rabbi Joseph, "Come and take note: A girl three years and one day old is betrothed by intercourse....."
"A girl three years old may be betrothed through an act of sexual intercourse," the words of R. Meir. And sages say, "Three years and one day old."....."
Said Rabbi Joseph, "Come and take note: A girl three years and one day old is betrothed by intercourse. And if a Levir has had intercourse with her, he has acquired her.….. If one of those who are unfit for marriage with her had intercourse with her, he has rendered her unfit to marry into the priesthood. If any of those who are forbidden in the Torah to have intercourse with her had intercourse with her, he is put to death on her account, but she is free of responsibility [M.Nid. 5:4].
Sanhedrin 7/55B [132]
Under God's direction, Moses' army defeats the Midianites. They kill all the adult males, but take the women and children captive as sex slaves. When Moses learns that they left some alive, he angrily says: "Have you saved all the women alive? Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the female children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." So they went back and did as Moses instructed, killing everyone except for the virgins. In this way they got 32,000 virgins . ----(Numbers 31:1-54)
The Jews got 32,000 VIRGINS as female sex slaves.
3 YEAR OLD girls were suitable for sexual relations.
"Said Rabbi Joseph, "Come and take note: A girl three years and one day old is betrothed by intercourse....."

So how many more times you planning on posting the same old lies? Nothing like misquoting, partial quoting and trying to claim things aply to where they don't.
The case Rabbi Joseph was discussing is a case where a girl is RAPED. The discussion is whether it is rape or assault. The ruling is that under the age of three the person cannot be raped as any sexual activity is going to result in massive internal injuries, often leading to death- only over the age of three can it be considered anything besides assault since the injuries are less likely to be life threatening. In other words- it is a purely legal ruling as at what point we judge a person guilty of rape rather than assault.
The reason for the betrothal is the following: A rapist is forced to support and look after the woman he raped. This si done through a form of quasi marriage. he is forced to feed, clothe, provide her shelter and do everything a husband must do for a wife BUT unlike a husband he CANNOT divorce the woman he raped, and he CAN be forced to divorce her, and give her the full divorce settlement due to a woman that entered a marriage as a virgin, unlike where under normal circumstances a waomn cannot force a man to divorce. In essence, he becomes a servant to the woman, having to do everything for her- but with zero rights to anything (including sex- in Judaism the woman is the one who decides when and where sex takes place- a husband does not have a right to sex!) So the argument of Rabbi Meir and the Chachamim is a continuation of the above discussion- when is the girl considered old enough that the punishment for rape is applied?
As for the incident with Moses- you cut short the quote- it states how Moses tested the Midianite women to see if they were virgins or not- those who were not were killed, the rest joined the Israelites (not as slaves- any Canaanite that was a shifchah (female servant) was automatically converted and in the shmittah year (every seventh year) was freed with the status of a full Jew- so the maximum period of being a shifchah was 6 years). Why was this done? This incident took place after the battle that occurred at Baal-Peor. What happened their? Balak wa sangry that Bilaam had not cursed the Jews, but had instead nblesse dthem. Bilaam hated the Jews as much as Balak and told him that he would not be able to conquer the Jews unless they deserted God. His advice- use sexual favours to entice the jews to idol worship.
So that is what the Midianites did- they set-up a market outside the jewish camp- when the jewish men entered the market, the Midianite women would invite them into their tents to see what they were selling. Once alone, they would seduce the men. Just before sex, they would stop- insisting that the men worship at the altar of Peor, a God worshipped by defecating before it, or they would not continue. Men, being men, they succumbed...
After the battle- Moses needed to sort out the women who had bene part of this enticement since they were guilty of a sin with the death penalty. The Midrash states (and of course it has been left out by the asker...) that he was commanded by God to march the women over a mirror, one at a time- as they passed over, those guilty of the sin had their faces turn blue and were executed. Once again- the reason this was form the age of three and up is because that is the age at which intercourse, rather than assault, takes place. How many three year olds were executed? None to who knows how many- it is not said. what is said is that Balak was so keen on this plan that he even had the princes of Midian, including himself, send their daughters to carry out this plan!

They weren't saying, go have sex with three year old girls! They were saying that is the youngest point at which if a girl has sex, then whoever had sex with her has married her. The law then was that if 2 people had sex they were married. Not they HAD to get married, they WERE married. Why they set the age so young, I don't know. So they were saying, even if you have sex with a young girl, you still have responsibilities toward her, she will be your wife. Basically, young girls weren't a "free for all". And notice it says, 'betrothed" by marriage. That means she's not married yet and can still live in her parents home. You have sex with any female over 3 years old and you're married, dude. Anybody with access to all these references should know that. That leads me to believe you're doing a word search in something and trying to stir up trouble. Oh, and as for the Moses references, those were girls that could "join the tribe" and were eligible for marriage when they grew up because they were known to be virgins.

This is all a matter of how one interprets the texts. Many things are figuratively described, and it has been ages since these were written. You cannot take everything word for word and present an argument that does not look beyond what is stated, or tries to fathom the deeper meaning of the texts.

The people of the old testament stories were morally reprehensible by any modern standards of secular decency.
By extension, modern religions that are based on such teaching are on dubious moral grounds, and when they preach the damnation of groups such as gay people on the basis of old testament verse they show their true colours and their lack of any moral backbone.
Modern christian sexual morality is based on teachings that applauded taking sexual slaves and having relations with very young girls, as you say.
To excuse this as being because they were "different times" is apologist and revisionist in a way seldom encountered. It is like excusing hitler for the shoah because he had a bad hair day.

Other than the ability to cut and paste and misconstrue things, do you have any other talents? I doubt it. For the **real** truth behind these statements, from a Jewish perspective, and the real context, see the link below.

So, does that justify others doing the same thing?
