A six or seven month old yellow cat has taken up residence on my front porch. I have a dog, and don't really want a cat, but I have fed the poor thing and I'm thinking about keeping it. Need help with a name.

Sounds like a "Sam" to me. I had a cat just like that and he was named Butter, due to his color.
