According to the bible, yes. Modern religion has tried to reinvent the line, like many of these answerers are. They say it means "Many are called but few answer" or the "net" analogy, which is often used.

Truth be told, however, the line was written to be interpreted literally. It had to do with priests. Many are called to service, but few are chosen for heaven.

In todays society, I doubt any of us would be moving forward.

True, Many are called to repentance but only a few are chosen to eternal life, You cast in a fishing net & you get every denomination fish there is, That net represents the Gospel calling, But the ones that are kept represents the BRIDE, You throw in the net & catch every kind of fish, but then you seperate them & keep the ones that you were fishing for.

Yes I think so. But the reason that few are chosen is that so many people choose not to respond to their calling, whatever that may be.
Bless them all

Many are stated as, yet few are chosen Matt 22:14 KJV Our Saviour usually makes use of this expression. It became in all probability proverbial. The Jews were stated as, yet few of them were chosen to existence. the great mass of the rustic became wicked, and that they confirmed by utilising their lives that they weren't chosen to salvation. The Gentiles even have been invited to be saved, Isa forty 5:22. us of a after us of a has been stated as; yet few, few have yet confirmed that they have got been authentic Christians, the pick of God. it is likewise authentic that many that're interior the church could coach to be with out the marriage garment, and coach finally that they weren't the chosen of God. This remark interior the 14 th verse is the inference from the "entire parable," and not of the area with regard to the guy with out the marriage garment. It does not propose, hence, that the great mass interior the church are merely stated as and not chosen, or are hypocrites; however the great mass in "the human kin," contained with the aid of the time of Christ, who were "stated as," had rejected the mercy of God.

There is a biblical reference to something of the sort. But the language used is that everyone is called to do something, but few are chosen to do one thing (i.e. all are called to preach, but few are called to be preachers...).

Yes. All are offered the way of salvation, but not all will accept it. Those who choose to accept Jesus were, in God's infinite power and knowledge, chosen before they were born.

Many will say "no" to the initial call itself.

The Day of the Lord will be great & terrible.
Great for us (Christians)
