No Pleasure is fleeting. It lasts a moment and then is gone. Happiness, on the other hand, is lasting. Happiness comes from having a relationship with God and being comfortable with who you are.

Well, pleasure to me implies happiness, in some instances the two are even synonymous. I could not be pleasured without being happy, at least momentarily. So yes, in my book a continual series of pleasures (strange phrase that) would constitute happiness.
Of course, pleasure is not the only thing causing happiness, if it were, I imagine our society would have evolved quite differently ;-) More often than not, I am happy for any number of different reasons and that happiness gives me pleasure.
Hope this helps, or at lease gave you a moment of happiness and/or pleasure. :)

This is like comparing climate to weather.
Climate is a long term conditions that an area has, while weather is short term.
Im going to say that a series of pleasures will not constitute happiness for the long term......I think that the only way to have happiness is through your ambitions and completion of long term goals.

no i dont think that's what it is. because i don't have an ongoing series of pleasures in my life but im very happy with it because i have what i need and the two ppl i love the most are safe. That's enough for me to be happy, but those are exactly pleasures....

No. Pleasure is for a short time. It can make one feel "happy" for a short time. Happiness is being contented with who you are.

ha !!! good question
let me know where you find a continual state of pleasure!
unfortunatly both states are fleeting or they wouldnt exisit. if either were a permenant fixture they would cease to be a change and would be normal state .
so they have to be fleeting to exisit as a change from normal.
so because it doesnt exisit your excellent question is actualy null and void.
for those of you who say happiness can be a permenant state of mind . be careful you are not mistaking happiness for contentment or peace within. they are different

I know a continual lack of pleasure makes it impossible to be happy.

Happiness comes from within. It's a state of internal being, not really external. But during the day I find a lot of things, generally small things, that make me smile.

You can look up the meaning of happiness in the dictionary. It seems like this is just a question of definition.
