Which is more important? The judgement of the person who does not believe in your faith, or the judgement of the people in your flock?
Is it more important to keep your own in line so that they represent your faith and beliefs in a correct manner?
Or do you feel that it is more important to "spread the word" to non believers, even if there is a flaw in your ways?

No disrespect intended. Just looking for honest answers to an indeed valid question. At least to me. I know that "Mis representation" is a problem for any belief system. Or at least it would appear so. I am just curious as to how you approach this and what the solution is.

Blessings To All

ok Jedi...just because the trinity in your beliefs is one thing, it does not make my spiritual beliefs and practices any less valid.
Trinity stand for the 3 cycles of the divine feminine. Maiden, Mother, Crone.
Speak as you wish, you are one of many, but i am very firm in my beliefs. I ask a question and you get defensive. Something you're not telling us....or do i just make you uncomfortable? Blessings

Thank you Deeevious! AT NO TIME DID I MENTION JUDGEMENT....
Goodness, everyone seems to be so defensive today! lol If that is all it takes to provoke an all out "battle" it's a wonder half of you people are still around.! Can we not just be respectful and polite and answer the question?!

This is a great question. Jesus said to not critize the splinter in another's eye and ignore the plank in your own. Judgement isn't ours to have. We do need to correct those in our flock when we see something but first of all not to ignore our own personal faults.

Christians should not act as if they are better than anyone. We should realize that whatever good we do is not because of ourselves but of God working in us.

I think this issue should be seperate from "spreading the word" even though it becomes intermingled too often. Christians should not wait till we are made perfect to spread the word. It will be too late then. We should show our faults and show what God has done in spite of them and that should be part of how we spread the word.

This was a humbling question. Thanks for making me think about it.

The only judgment that's important is God's. A person is not supposed to keep their own in line so they represent their faith and beliefs. A Christian's faith and beliefs are represented by the Bible.

It is very important to "spread the word". There's no flaw in Christianity so the other part of that question is not applicable.

Hmm, I may be mistaken but I don't see the original question saying that you need to judge anyone. She is asking which judgement is more important. Or in other words, which is more important to a Christian...persuing the ones outside the flock to convert and spread the word, or keeping your current flock in check to properly represent. Hoping I am correct in that, I'll post my two cents. I am holding loosely to Christianity. I was born and raised into the Christian beliefs, however as I got older the more exposure I had to the many sects of it the more discouraged I've become. I believe in higher power, I believe there was once a great Prophet who's name was Jesus of Nazereth. Do I believe that Christianity is the be all and end all of what is right? Not as I see them. I will be the judge of no man. What is most important, if you believe in such, is your own judgement. Harm no one and do good I say. I'll not worship any Deity in the street simply because I don't have to. I'll not knock on the doors of my neighbors to question their religion because I don't have to. My heart is known and private worship is as good as public if it is genuine. Christians need to spread their word, be they themselves true or not to their faith, because it is part of fulfilling the prophecy. Once all of the world has been exposed to the word of God, he shall return according to the book of Revelation...hence the massive work of over-seas missionaries. Christianity has been a mockery of itself simply because of many of its leaders and representatives have falsely represented it. How sad. But again, many other religions have the same problem. Hitler was said to be a Pegan, however many Neo-Pegans/Wiccans would shutter at that. Do I think he was a fair representative of those beliefs? Absolutely not. For that, look to the Indus.
So to answer your question Trinity, as a person brought up in the 'Christian Belief', I would say it is more important for most to watch over the flock and then delegate them to spread the word to non believers. Whether this is done correctly, tastefully, or by the right people for the task...that's another story. Be well and be Blessed!

A very important part of the Christian religion is that we don't judge other people, that's not out job, but God's job. I don't think we try to keep people "in line" per-say, we just hope that people follow the Bible and by doing so, through their example spread the Word by their example. I personally don't push my beliefs on others, but different denominations choose to spread the World differently, some more aggressively than others.

What I wish that non-Christians would understand is that there are many different denominations to the Christian religion-Catholic, Orthodox, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, the list goes on. What you hear about one group of Christians doesn't' necessarily represent all Christian believes.

People that are in the flock should know that the scripture says to "...think good of all men," (Book?) as well as all of the scriptures that deal with judging others. Therefore, I don't worry too much about them. What's important is that your life shines as a living epistle so that the unsaved inquire, "What must I do to be saved." I don't think Christ was worried about the religious during his time. At the same time, I do think, that we should be respectful to the church and be respectful of the doctrine and rules that you fall under. But you'll always have judgemental people in the church.

Are you asking which is our greater responsibility?
Both, of course.
God has put the people right where He wants them, and He gifts them for the work in His church. Some teach. Others evangelize, others do other things, that it is done this way is shown in the Bible.
Unfortunately, man gets his ideas into the workings of the church, and programs are run, and soon- EVERYONE is doing all manner of things. That's my little rant- don't coerce or shove someone into doing what they can't do without turning ash white, and sick to their stomachs!
Hmm, sorry, I don't think I've answered you altogether.
Both are important, but if a church follows the leading of the Lord, that is when it will all be done properly.

Well, the judgment of the believer who has strayed (including preachers) will be more severe than that of unbelievers.
If a preacher teaches against the truth of Gods word,He will cause the whole congregation to go the wrong way.
This is why we need to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Scripture records "Judgment will begin with the House of God."

Jesus declares we must not seek to remove any speck from any other person's eye until the plank is gone from our own.

The principle is, we are not set to judge another person's messy house unless our own is cleaned. Nothing is wrong with judgment which lines up with what God has said (written in Scripture)- but wisely- it should be said by those who have exercised their own selves in it before recommending it to others.
