Are you able to understand why many people across America and throughout the world not only do not subscribe to your belief system, but would like to see it completely abolished?

Well Deke,

I believe it's because our faith & belief requires a self-denial. And the world hates to deny itself or admit that we are all sinners in need of a Savior......which also requires humility on our part.

Deke you are suppose to be top contributor. This question just doesn't reflect your current status. We both know that Christianity has been around since the time of Christ. Over 2,000 years and since then has impacted the entire world. Bibles are all over the world in thousands of languages and dialects. Missionaries doing great work in remote places all over the world. Have you ever read about the life of the late Mother Teresa? She impacted thousands of lives in India and in other parts of the world. Christians are doing great things such as opening up clinics for medical services, building houses, feeding the hungry in drought stricken areas and in war torn areas and recently I saw a piece on television where Christian missionaries were raising money to install water well systems in hard to reach areas so that thousands of people could have clean drinking water. Why would you want this kind of service completely abolished and leave thousands of people destitute due to lack of care and caring people like Christians all over this world? People may not always remember what you have taught them but they will always remember how you treated them. In Christianity we strive to practice what we teach to others. you don't stop caring or reaching out to others because they don't believe as you do. You will never know, those who you disdain the most will most likely be there for you when you have nobody else to turn to.

John 3:16
Romans 10:9
1 Peter 5:7

Think on these things top contributor.

In God's time, He would soften your heart and hopefully you will become His child one day.

I think that people do not subscribe to my believe system because they want their own freedom. They think that there is no freedom with God and they are just enjoying their sins. Because it is pleasurable to them. Another reason being would be because they dislike the thought that one can go to heaven only through Jesus.

Christianity would never be abolished. Because whatever that happened is a fact. There is no lie to the fact.

May God bless you.

Thanks for asking this question, you get a star.

I have been amazed at the number of people on this site that do not subscribe to my belief system and would like to see it completely abolished. I have to assume that there are equal or greater numbers that do not even visit this site.

I realize our nation was founded on Christian ideals and that most of our fore fathers where believers. I see references made to God and "In God We Trust" in our government and on our money. As a Christian, I am constantly surrounded by other Christians and involve my self in Christian activity. I suppose you might say that I live a "sheltered life"

I am amazed, but more amazed by my Savior who loves all of us. If I have tunnel vision regarding my faith, and I do live a "sheltered" life, all I can say is..Thank God.

I understand that there will always be those that do not believe and the reasons for their non-belief varies in their minds, but the truth is they make a choice to follow their own desires and the ways of the world.

I came to faith in Christ in the same world that everyone else did faced with the same reasons to doubt; yet, I have accepted the gift and I thank the Lord for His grace.

If I was an "enemy" of God's, as all non-believer's are and if I was spiritually blind and ignorant of God's Truth, as all non-believer's are...then yes I can understand how one could be deceived so that they will not believe. But thank the Lord for Jesus who came so that we could see. You will never be able to abolish those who are truly saints of heaven. Many have tried in generations past, but we've only gotten stronger. All those who fall away were never Christians to begin with ( 1 John 2:18-19 ).

I understand why, and I share their sentiments more often than not. Do you think I enjoy being grouped in with fundies and extremists?

On the other hand, however, I outright reject the idea that they want to abolish my belief system, or any other for that matter. It's so 1984ish.

I don't see that as happening. Most beliefs don't completely "go away" but are kept in secret. I don't think it would even be a good idea for it to be completely abolished but it would be nice to see all religions agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Same rule applies to:
Catholics
Muslims
Jewish
Mormon
Jehovah
Where ever do you get your ifo that people want it abolished at least 3 out of the 5 I just named I know of many people can't stand them and just can't get their mind around some of the beliefs. Like Jehovahs' Witnesses, if they rape or molest a young child... if they go to the watch tower and confess their sins, the church will protect them from the law. How sick is that lock those bastards up!!! So I guess if I were Catholic I should confess and i will be safe, WRONG that religions own damn priests are molesting and raping children WTF!?! Yeah I think I feel really safe and thankful to be Christian! NO DOUBT!

yes, i understand why. i was one of those people until i was 27 years old. i know all the reasons i had. now that i've converted, i can see that every one of those reasons were the result of misguided thinking and stereotyping on my part, that were helped along by the media and persons such as yourself. i was a hateful person in the past, but i'm not anymore.

if the world places a ban on my religion, the police will have to kill me. i will not fight the government by violent means, but i will not, under any circumstances, stop glorifying God.

communism never worked all that well. maybe you missed that somehow.

Main figures in the Christian society exploit other people for their own benefit in the name of Christianity...people you are suppose to be able to trust, being alone with your seven year old boy... Christians are fast to judge... being human we strive to be the best that we can be... to live in harmony with those who share our world... yet it is the opposite behaviour that has made people of other religions turn away in disgust because Christians don't make an effort to 'practice what they preach.'
