Firstly, you can not have an allergy to sugar. An allergen has to be a protein or a protein-binding hapten which sugar is not.

You may have an intolerance to sucrose in table sugar and fruit which can lead to similar symptoms if there is a deficiency of the intestinal enzyme which breaks sucrose down to absorbable fructose and glucose. If you can eat natural sugars than you probably do not have an intolerance.

Your problem may be as a result of other ingredients in these products. The best thing to do is consult a doctor and get a referral to an allergist.

There's not much likelyhood you are truly allergic to sugar, seeing as that the body converts starches to sugars for energy. I assume you eat ordinary foods, and things like fruits. Most vegetables also contain different forms of sugar as well- onions happen to be particularly high in it, which is why they brown up so nicely. So, you have some other problem but not an allergy to sugar. The only way to absolutely determine what you are sensitive to is to undergo allergy testing by an allergist. Then you will have some idea of what you need to do to avoid getting the rashes in future.

"Sugar" has many sources. Cane sugar, beet sugar, corn syrup, honey... There is indeed such a thing as allergy to cane sugar. Glucose is our body's fuel, so allergy to all types of "sugar" is not possible. However, you are obviously reacting to something that you are eating!

However, allergic reactions may be very complex, so rather than experiment on your own and risk anaphylaxis (a potentially-life-threatening allergic reaction), you may want to be evaluated by an allergist. Read about food allergies and anaphylaxis at http://www.foodallergy.org/anaphylaxis/index.html.

its mostly possible to be allergic to almost anything. in fact there are very few things one cant be allergic to. one being water. it is likely that you are indeed allergic to the sugar or at least a part of the sugar make up. there are things you can take for most allergies up to reinjecting your own medicated blood to help with allergies.

I have heard of being allergic to sucrose. It is very hard to avoid in food. Try fruitose instead.
