Look into the person's eyes while he/she is smiling, then you will you know if its sincere. The eyes are a great source of truth.

It really comes down to reading people, which takes practice. I currently wait tables, which is a business of smiles. Some are genuine, some are not, some are kind of an odd combination of the two. You usually can't tell the difference by just looking at the smile. Try to read their body language as well. Says a lot for not having any sound. This is usually easier to do with somebody you 're familiar with. This is made more true because personality plays a major factor into the way a person regards you. Some people can't help but to be genuine all the time, some are compulsively dishonest. Most of us are somewhere in between. Also note that if somebody at least makes an effort to smile even if it is fake, they probably like you and/or are pretty friendly people in general.

No teeth = fake smile
I think that you should be able to see at least 8 of their top teeth to know if the smile is genuine or not. I really did read this in some psychology magazine. That doesn't mean that you should sit there and stare at the person's teeth while counting to see if you can count 8 teeth!

Look into the eyes..... If eyes smile then smile is from heart, but if there is smile on lips and sadness in eyes, then its a fake smile

Look at the person's eyes. If the smile is genuine there will be warmth shining in the eyes. Otherwise, one may grin from ear to ear, it is still artificial.

4 me as i knw some smile but dnt really smile they are hiding the smile quickly. and wont smile again and some just force it while they dnt want to smile,
