I did a research paper in high school on the story of "The Excorcist" by William Blatty. The book is much better than the movie, but the true story that his novel was loosely based on is better still. In real life, it was a little boy who lived in Mt.Ranier, MD and later moved to St.Louis. The house he lived in when he became "possessed" burned to the ground years ago and has been replaced by a large gazebo. The backyard now holds the playground for the local elementary school.

Yes my cat was acting really odd. I realized from my bible study that she was being possessed by evil demons. I called around and found a pastor who would perform the exorcism for 200 dollars. He also sold me a cross to place on her collar. I now read her verses from the bible every day. She is much better now.

The superstitiously Christian parents of a gay friend of mine had two exorcisms performed on him as a young teenager to cast out the gay demons they thought possessed him, the exorcist sat on him and held him down on the ground so he couldn't get away...my friend was so deeply traumatised by this treatment that when he was old enough he left home and never went back again, he refused to even attend his father's funeral because he had been treated so badly by his parents, he even changed his name to distance himself that much more from his religiously abusive family.

www.imdb.com and search terms: Exorcism of Emily Rose...

There was a similar case at Tanacu in Romania a few months before the movie even got into question: a young nun was suspected of being possesed and this insane priest started exorcising her with a few other "mates" of theirs'. They ended up crucifying the girl, and she soon died. Later it was proven that what was wrong with her wasn't having the Devil in her, but a bad case of mental instability... Some case that was.

Before there was psychology, there were only spiritual explanations for phenomena such as those exhibited by the girl. Now that there are both psychological and spiritual explanations, very few are prepared to accept spiritual reasons for the girl's behavior- because that would mean taking on the spiritual ramifications of such acceptance. Many priests are ignorant. I believe possessions are real- if only very rare. The rest consists of all those things that are taught at Johns Hopkins and Harvard.

I was discussing one a few days ago. Basically when demons are cast out, then you need to get Jesus in the person, and keep ministering to them, or else 7 more worse will enter in. Believe me the second condition is much worse than the first.

No, I have my thories on this but space here does not allow me to explain them.

We have free will and that free will is never taken away from us, so the idea of someone being possessed takes away free will. God Bless
