It makes me wonder what on earth they're doing over there when Illinois and Texas just made great strides here recently. I spoke with family in CT yesterday, the fight is on in that state and apparently people are extremely determined to stop this. They already recruited me for calls and emails so I'm on that today.

Good, let all the illegals go to Connecticut, see how long before Connecticut cries uncle under the burden for caring for the illegals. Maybe we will know for sure if illegals give more to the tax base than take from it for social services and schooling, sounds like a good case study to me.

What are you trying to stop? This card would be HELPING the United States. This is not an offer of legal residency, it is offering them a bank account, a library card, and some form of identification which, in turn, would allow the city government in New Haven to keep track of their illegal immigrant population.
It doesn't seem as though you thought about this too much. The banking industry would definitely benefit from this and maybe with access to the library the children of the illegal immigrants could expand their knowledge.
Nothing in the article mentioned anything about legalizing the immigrants, it mentioned "validating" them, which is basically just recognizing that they exist (which nobody can deny) and providing them with an identification card.

Just wait they will be overrun and begging for help in no time at all. Will this I.D. require finger prints, if not it should. How can anyone tell if the illegals are giving A false name. Just sounds like A waste of time to me, we have immigration laws lets enforce them.

it is so sad read what the Americans think can you imagine been in a place where you don't have any family and the only thing you receive racism immigrants are here because they think your country is a land of opportunities no a land of racist but any way if you don't liked is you against the world good luck
