Hi,
Scientists say that energy is the capacity to perform work.
They also say that light, heat and voice are energies.
On the other hand, spiritualists and some scientists say that everything is energy.
So, energy is an impulsion.
Or, energy is something which is not matter.
Or, energy is the general name for everything.
Which one is true?
PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER WITH LINKS.
Thanks.

If energy is a product which manifests as capacity to perform work, isn't everything energy? Nothing can be created or nothing can be destroyed, things only change. So, isn't everything a product from another thing which manifests as capacity to perform work?

Energy is in everything. We use energy to do everything we do, from making a jump shot to baking our favorite cookies to sending astronauts into space -- energy is there, making sure we have the power to do it all. There are two types of energy -- stored (potential) energy and working (kinetic) energy. For example, the food you eat contains chemical energy, and your body stores this energy until you release it when you work or play. Learn more about these different forms of energy.

No you have just stated it wrongly, however, your intention is the same as I wanted to say, I guess.
Energy is the subtle form and matter the gross. You should not state "energy is something which is not matter". That is technically incorrect.
Energy can be as you know potential or kinetic. Every force is nature can be converted in to energy of some form which is measurable mathematically using physical laws. There is a chemical energy as well.
So you need to understand force to understand energy. Heat is a property and energy is innate to heat and is called heat energy. What the energy does is how we understand an energy. For example heat energy can change the temperature of an object or sorrounding gas/atmosphere. In this case one form of energy gets converted into another form by the way of transferring it. What an electrical energy does is to light up the bulb.
Therefore, understand energy as a force being used to do some work or force in store which has the potential to do that work. The observable result is gross and the process itself is subtle to perceive physically.

Every thing is energy, since all matter is condensed form of energy. But the energy available is what scientists refer to as the capacity to work and heat, light, sound etc. are different forms of energy.
All matter can theoretically be converted into energy using the equation, E = m.c^2 where E is the energy, m the mass that is converted and c the velocity of light in vacuum.

Chinese say its 'chi'. The universe exists because of 'chi'. Western scientists make it atoms. Simply stated energy is anything that can be converted into any form of power (or matter).
For sure, light, heat, voice are all expressions of conversions.
The Tibetan monks can lay in the snow with a thin blanket and have a good nights sleep. They convert their internal energy (read chi) into power and stay alive. Birds in high freezing temperatures convert themselves into balls (or bundles) of pure energy and stay aloft for days on end. Some even sleep while they are migrating a contributor here added.

Energy is the capacity to do work. It is best understood through the laws of thermodynamics. In mechanics it can also be viewed through canonical variables and Poisson brackets construction as the general canonical conjugate of time.

Energy is like a feeling of emotion. U cannot explain in full what it is unless U feel it for yourself. Energy is same.

hello E=m cc, Energy equals m times speed of light squared.
I studied hard to infuse it into my noggin, and then thought it is beyond my needs. good luck
