my question is as I am novice on car parts, is fitting of cd changers on the boot same as fitting DVD/HD Drive on the computer ? What I am trying to ask is if I buy different brand CD changer then the one currently have, can I just install it easily in the same place ?

No Computers have nice modular places and data cables. Car radios are a bit tricky and the center stack has to come apart to get to the six screws holding a metal frame around the A/C heater controls radio and that compartment. IN the USA we use Best BUY or Crutchfield electronics stereo shops to upgrade the head unit. Might as well get XM radio or Sirius satellite now. With a little luck you can find a side mounted radio that will fit in nicely. Some times CD transport problems can be fixed at the "Clarion radio repair center"
